@alex_dlc….I guess they didn’t really say if you can watch it more then once! And, bet they have figured out a way to keep people from coping the DVD’s but, it seems hackers can usually get around those! So, I’m curious to see how that all works out!

and isnt this going to be easy to rip. like recording it with a camera or with a program or something?

personally i think the apple tv needs an optical drive to play dvds

Rental fees are too high, the window for multiple viewing is too short, cost of the AppleTV is still too high to justify the service.

For now I’ll stick with my snail mail NetFlix, thanks.

I really wanted a headless iMac that crammed the mac mini and ATV together with a processing and graphic boost. Maybe then, I’d download a movie if I really had to have now rather than waiting a day or so.

But…if you are going to rent, it is cheaper than renting a movie from like Blockbuster…a least around here!

Personally, I’m not thrilled about this. Although a $2.99-$4.99 “rental” is alot cheaper than paying full price to purchase a dvd, you can only “rent” the movie for 24 hrs. I mean, how many times can a person watch the same movie over & over on their iPhone or iPodTouch in a 24 hr period? Then, after 24 hrs, the movie is gone. Personally, I prefer copying a dvd and converting it to MP4 so that I can build up my iPod Movie collection and view them whenever I want as many times as I want without the pressure of a 24 hr deadline. That’s just MY 2 cents.
