ZiPhone… Again…

I had to restore and rejailbreak again. One thing I found out is that when I did the ZiPhone 1.0 the first time, I selected activate and didn’t need to. This is what caused YouTube not to work. I jailbroke again using ZiPhone 1.0 and only selected jailbreak this time and YouTube works and jailbreak went easy. Just start with stock 1.1.3, turn off iPhone, hold home button down, insert into dock, wait for connect to iTunes sign, release home button, run ZiPhone.

  1. hi,

i am not able to find the ziphone.exe app, but i did get my hands on the ziphoneGUI.exe!!! are they the same thing!!!

i am currently on version 1.1.1, and i am hesitant to upgrade to 1.1.3!!! i am not on at&t service so will i have to select jailbreak or will i have to select jailbreak, activate and unlock!!..

the 1st thing we have to do is upgrade to 1.1.3, and then turn off iPhone, hold home button down, insert into dock, wait for connect to iTunes sign, release home button, run ZiPhone.

should i just wait a little while more until things are certian and everything will definatly work. i dont want to take the risk! is it actually worth it, or is 1.1.1 still ok to use!!

  2. Here’s a link to the files: http://appleiphoneschool.com/files/ZiPhone_1.zip
Most developers are moving to 1.1.3. I don’t know how unlocking works yet. Sorry. It should work according to what you suggest.

  3. Personally…I’m a 1.1.1 girl. I’m standing strong until things are a little less crazy with 1.1.3.

  4. Brooke, you right.. things are crazy . keep strong girl, 1.1.4 is soon, and even things will get more crazy.. :)

  5. Will this work for an ipod touch, read on the site it should work for ootb iphone 1.1.3 but am still looking for an easy way to jailbreak my new itouch ootb 1.1.3…

    Hi all,

I don’t understand this new ZiPhone thing because I upgraded from 1.0.0 to 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 and then FINALLY to 1.1.3 when 1.1.3 first came out. So now I’m just wondering do I need to do this ZiPhone??

I’m on 1.1.3 (not OTB) and Modem Firmware 04.02.13_G

The reason why I am asking is that I recently uncovered a problem that I am not receiving any SMS notifications anymore. So I am able to send but not able to receive any SMS on myu iphone. And this suddenly happened recently. Trying to remember after what and the only thing I can remember changing is SSHing a new hosts.txt file in order to getting ApolloIM to work..

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,
    Heba

    • hi .. did u ever got some one to tell u what was the problem ,cos i am having the same problem here after upgrading to 1.1.3 ..thnaks

  7. this might be a silly question but if you do ziphone again do you have to go back afterwards and reinstall any themes and apps that were on there originally?

  8. @Tarek Mansour…oh man, I don’t even want to think about 1.1.4 yet!! We are still try to sort through 1.1.3 and the eight million ways to jailbreak it!! :)

@Arkoow…according to the Zibri’s (the creator of ZiPhone) blog it should work on a iPod Touch (but, there have been mixed results)…HERE is a link to his blog, check it out and see what you think.

  9. I just tried the latest ZiPhone 2.1 and ONLY Jailbroke the phone and everything seems to be working. Earlier I had Jailbrok and Activated…as it was suggested and I lost my email and youtube…now everything seems to be working just fine.

I’ll keep everyone up to date on any applications that I install if I have troubles.

  10. Hello everyone !

I noticed many people link the files directly.
That’s a mistake.. ZiPhone is updated almost daily !

  11. Brooke, i would like to share some interesting info with you and all. One of my friends had all sorts of problems upgrading his iPhone (3.9 BL) to 1.1.3. Tried every thing and failed. Finally had to go back to 1.1.1.
Instead of using the classical method of *#309# and jailbreakme, he used Zibri 2.2 and run the one shot -j -a -u. It worked fine and surprisingly his phone is on 1.1.3 on the reboot. Now he is the happiest man on the earth.
We checked and found that all the features are working.
Thanks to Zibri and his team.
