Drummer is a drum emulator by MooTheCow. When the application is open there are fifteen boxes that have labels like “Crash” or “Snare 1”. Tapping on each box gives you a specific drum noise. You are able to tap five boxes at the same time. There are five different drum sets: Dance, Jazz 1, Jazz 2, Rock, and Electro. All the sounds are high quality, and they are very close to the real thing. The help section tells you how to use the application in case you do not know how to, and there is a donation reminder. The thing that I love most about this application is the fan support. It is very easy to make sound packs for Drummer, all you have to do is make fifteen small samples of sounds and place them in the Media folder. You can get Drummer from the iPod Touch Fans source, also the developer’s site is moocowmusic.com. Below is a link for more drum sets and how to place them in your Touch/iPhone. Also, check out the screen shots below.

PocketTouch is a music controller made by the one and only Skylar. PocketTouch allows you to control your music with simple swipes, the best part is that you can leave it in your pocket while doing it. The biggest complaint with the iPod Touch/iPhone is that there is no external button in order to control your music. PocketTouch solves these problems in a different way. When you start the application, there is a bunch of settings. In order to start the magic, tap the “back” button. A nice swirl affect will take you to a black screen with “Pause” and “Now Playing” at the top. Tap the screen, and your music will start playing. Swipe your finger to the right, and you will skip to the next song, swiping left will take you to your previous song, swiping up will raise the volume, and swiping down will decrease the volume. When changing the volume, a volume meter will appear, this will be familiar for anyone who owns a Mac. In order to reverse all these settings go to the “setting” menu. Hold your finger on the screen for a second or two and it will take you to the settings. The reason Skylar made the screen all black is not because he is lazy, it is because he is brilliant. If there were colors on the screen, it can burn an imprint into the iPod screen if the application is kept on for too long. Having PocketTocuh totally black will prevent that from happening. I love this application, I can now listen to my music without taking my iPod out of my pocket. You can get PocketTouch from the iPod Touch Fans source. Check out the screen shots below.

I wrote a post a while back saying we were going to be making a few changes to the site well, that got put on hold while Doug was out of the country. Now that he is back, we are going to start up again. The first change we made was making the Comment Reply fit correctly. Now, when you would like to reply to a comment you can select “reply to this comment” and it should fit correctly. If you would like to write a comment after another comment just go back up to the “reply to this comment” and select it…it will add it under the previous reply. We will keep you posted as we continue to make changes! You will see some cool changes to our Contact page soon!

There have been a few updates since the last time I have done a review of iBirthday. This has always been one of my favorite apps…but, a few updates ago (version 1.2.3a) made it compatible with only version 1.1.2 and above. Well, I finally got a chance it get it on our 1.1.4 iPhone and I really like some of the “new” features!! When you open the app…you will notice that it keeps the background you are using on your iPhone as the background for the app…that is pretty cool! There is also a new About button which will give you the change log for the app and some other basic info about it. The two new features that I think are really cool are Sounds and Birthday List. With the Sounds options…you can pick between 7 sounds that will be played when it alerts you of a Birthday. If you select Birthday List…you will see a full list of all the birthdays you have entered in your iPhone, when their birthday is and the age that person is/will be this year. Another sweet feature is that the birthday notification pop-up allows you to call or text message the contact…very very cool! For some reason…I really like this app…I don’t know if it is the fancy fount or the clean icons…just something about this app that I like!! iBirthday is available through the ModMyApple.it source. According to the developer version 2.0.2 of this app is compatible with 1.1.3, 1.1.4 and maybe 1.1.2 (ha, if you are on 1.1.2…let us know if it works for you!).

Note: For instruction on how to add a birthday to your contacts…check out the first post done for this app (version 1.2.1) by clicking on the iBirthday link in the above paragraph.
