Another version of vWallpaper! This developer is on a roll! Now there is the option to choose between wallpapers! This is so sweet. I found 6 that I’d like to share with you! Just SSH in and upload them to /Library/Skrew/Videos/

UPDATE: I fixed the links. I had .mov on them and they are .mp4 files. You do not need to change the extention once you download them. They will work as .mp4 files. I am working on a site: vwallpapers.com You will be able to download and submit backgrounds.

only movie working for me too, cant download anything else, downloads as 4k file and when the link is clicked it cant be found on server

Its not working on my iPod Touch… I switched off Theme Wallpaper in Summerboard Prefs, but its still not working..

I just renamed the file extension from m4v to mov and it works!! Try it and let me know!!
Well I got it to work now, but when I choose one of the videos you provided that I SSH’ed into my iTouch, they dont work. Only the two stock videos work…

I right clicked the links and picked save as and i was able to download all of the videos.
maybe you guys should learn to follow directions…
i followed the directions, but it DID NOT work. It looks like it works, but I downloaded 1 kb of nothingness. Check your downloads

only the “movie” one works
As of right now only the MOVIE file works, all of the other downloads have broken links.
So we have to wait for the developer to reupload the videos. :/

I just tried powering down my iphone by holding down the power button and after I slide the cursor to turn off it wouldn’t. So I forced it off by holding the power button down until it shuts down. Now my iphone won’t start back up. It’s frozen at the silver apple screen. ;( Anyone having similar issues?
hi douglas, i found the same files you made available for download. the reason why all the other files won’t work is because it’s still under .mp4. “movie” is the only one that was a .mov file. all you have to do is change it to .mov so everyone can download it. if you guys still want to do this on your own, you can download the zipfile at http://www.sendspace.com/file/84dzd3

I found a zip file of the vwallpaper that you provided and everyone is having a problem with the download because every file except the movie file is .mp4, not .mov.
If you don’t want to wait until Douglas fixes this, you can do this on your own, download the zip file at

The only thing that I don’t like about this application is that you can’t go from iPod listening to the home screen, to another application. I know its not anyone’s fault, the phone is just built like that, but its still irritating. When you hit the home button, the phone sees the wallpaper as a movie and tries playing the audio from that. Basically, you can’t leave the iPod app if you’ve got this installed. I’m not blaming anyone, its just the nature of the beast. By the way, did I mention this is the best app ever?

Where do you upload those files to? When I SSH my iphone i dont see the media/screw/video … i tried creating it but nothing worked! Any suggestions?

I’ve noticed an interesting thing, for me at least –
While vWallpaper is running, iPod music no longer plays in the background outside the iPod application.
I guess only 1 application can run in the background at 1 time :)
I tried adding a video with sound, and the sound actually plays when you go to your home screen on the iphone. This is why when you are playing music via the ipod function, that the music stops playing when you go to the homescreen (it is playing the sound from the .mov file, whether there is sound or not)
OK… This is cool… or freaky, depends on how you see it…
First of all, mp4 extensions DO work with vWallpaper…
What I did was, I took a video using iPhone Video Recorder (trial version)… After saving the file, I SSH that file into the Skrew library…
I then activated it using vWallpaper… IT WORKED!!! but the freaky part was, it came along with the SOUND!!! LOL…
why not just show how to make your own
Does the ipod not go to standby now once vwallpaper is running? That sort of blows, eh?
Yeah, I have noticed that too. I always forget to put it in standby after I deny a call! This is what makes this a battery intensive app.
Thiis sounds like a great app, but I don’t like the fact that u can’t listen to your iPod if you leave the iPod app. Can you use xlaunch or the dock app to avoid going to the home screen and keep the iPod music playing?
