Ambrosia Software, Inc. presents another of their first iPhone games, Mr. Sudoku. Available when the App Store launches for $9.99 and written specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch, Mr. Sudoku is a game truly meant to be played on a mobile device.
Sudoku is an addictive, logic-based number placement puzzle game. Each puzzle starts with a partially completed grid that you’ll have to solve. The object is to insert numbers in the boxes so that each column, row, and each of the nine boxes contain the digits from 1 to 9 exactly one time only.Mr. Sudoku’s unique and innovative interface lets you use a familiar input device to select your digits — your own personal digits! Simply use your finger to draw the number you want, and it’s instantly converted into the actual number. Ensuring the strategy and brain-flexing doesn’t stop, there’s 4 difficulty levels with 1,000 puzzles per level, for a total of 4,000(!) different puzzles!

Yes, I think developers need to be careful when it comes to pricing their apps. I still think the $.99 – $3.99 range is best for most apps. Some will be worth more that that.
if the price stays at $10, nobody will buy it. the game is not fun enough for the price. it should $1 to $5. then people will buy it.
Completely Agree. They should take a look at their pricing model again. Now I understand that most companies don’t care about how many people buy the product (SALES), but they care about how much money they get (SALES REVENUE).
E.G. I can price a game at $1 and have 1,000 people buy it. [Revenue = $1000] OR I can price a game at $10 and have 15 people buy it [Revenue = $1500] (Not including the 30% AppStore fee)
Even though the game might be overpriced and not very many people buy it (1000 people vs. only 15 people), I still get more money by pricing it at a ridiculous $10.
It’s a tough trade-off, but I agree they should find the price that will bring in the max revenue.
However – if prices are that ridiculous – there will be a higher demand for cracked iPhone apps – I’m not sure how intelligent the DRM is, but I can’t see why a hacker wouldn’t be able to crack it, then provide it on a Installer source.
That would hurt the developers, a lot. I assume people will want to put at least 15 games on their phone – if they’re priced at $10 each, they’d never buy that many. There might be a huge demand for the hackers to step up and provide the games illegally. It’s wrong, but maybe it might encourage the devs to price their apps a bit more realistically.

Yeah, that price is ridiculous. I love Sudoku, but that’s ridiculously overpriced for what it is. If there isn’t a free Sudoku usable on the iPhone right now, I am certain there will be soon.
Charging the same for this that Sega are charging for Super Monkey Ball is insanity.

I didn’t get that part during the demo video of drawing the number. He replaced the number with a 2 that he drew… but what was with the drawing of a 1 and a 3 off to the right?? Didn’t look like it did anything…
The numbers off to the right are notes. You put the number that you think it is in the middle and then the numbers it could be on the right. That way, you don’t have to remember each square.
But yeah, $10 is ridiculous. I love sudoku and would purchase it if it were much cheaper, but $10 isn’t worth something like that.

Why pay anything when the Sudoku in Puzzle Maniak is better. I think so far…Puzzle Maniak has the best sudoku My wife and Ihave ever played…
