Honestly, if you were to compare everything item by item that's built into a Mac, including free software, it would cost you as much if not more to have Dell package the same altogether. Eg: camera, Bluetooth, Airport, Drive and processor , available Windows installation (not an option on PC) Time machine backups, screen size, and so on. I did the comparison, and to build a Dell to match my Mac, would cost me more.

I agree, Macs can be a little expensive. In the long run though, with PC you are spending just as much. The cost of security, maintence, software, etc. Really, you are spending just as much, if not more. The only real reason I see in having a PC is for gaming and that is it. Fir everything else, I'd use a Mac. Sure people are just sticking to what they know, but by the time they realize the truth, it's too late. Change can be a great thing, and I've made my change back in Sept. 2007. And I'm not going back to PC. It pisses me of that I have to use a PC at work. LoL.

it's Mac, not MAC...
it's not an acronym like PC
btw, macs rock!!!
and TJ, the bigger reason is that Macs are too expensive and unfortunately, some people just want to stick with the stuff they know (aka Windows)

It turns out I may not be able to do this. I need to download the new Pwnage tool using windows or linux, and apparently you need to update via a previously installed mac version.

If someone wants to upload an updated mac version of pwnage tool, i can then upload the ipsw file.

I have a vista-xp-mac-linux quad boot :)
When this is released, I will upload a custom ipsw file.
It will be for the 3gs with either the old or updated firmware.

If nobody wants to host it, I will gladly upload it to rapidshare.com

It will probably be the usual ~250mb, x2 so I need at least 500mb of storage. I have a web server but I'm not comfortable hosting this with apple's nonsense.
