I do as long as you understand that it's limited to WiFi and will not run on 3G (unless JB'd). Not too sure about the change with the new iPhone coming - haven't heard about that (unless carrier is changed?)

I bought the Slingplayer so that my mom could watch cable from the states from Cairo (where she lives). It works well as long as you have a fast enough internet connection and I've started using it on my iPhone. I can't wait for the new iPhone this summer so I can get it on a 3G connection rather than being limited to watching on Wi-Fi only.

Seriously. David, didn't you do this?

I have, and it plays over 3G like a dream. Shame for non-jailbroken users.

You can use VoIPover3G (if you change it via SSH) or Tricker ThreeG from Cydia to watch using your 3G or Edge connection. I have the original iPhone, so I tried it over Edge and it works, but it's very choppy. I'd only use it to set my DVR that way cause it's not a good picture.

man! that i730 was a phone huh. it was the coolest phone back then but it felt like a brick in my pockets. i only lasted about a year with it and paid a pretty penny (full retail) for it. but one thing i did use alot on that i730 was the slingbox. ever since i changed phones and finally with the iphone..i've been waiting for it to show up. a bit disappointed to find that it's only wifi. to me...the slingbox was such an anticipated app that i KNOW someone is going to find a way around it..prob on a jb iphone....

thanks for the writeup. i wasn't originally going to get it since i have the original slingbox but read that it was compatible...and now that it's wifi only...ehh...tempted..but i know i shouldn't....but thanks for mentioning the i730..haha..that was a blast from the past.
