I havent honestly used Installer that much compared to cydia & prefer cydia over icy as well, altough Installer does have a clear interface compared to cydia's clustered look, but with Cydia taking the spotlight from Installer & Icy's addition as best of both worlds, installer was just a waste of resource & bound to shutdown sooner or later, i guess the yet to be released new pawnage tools to jailbreak the 3.0 firmware might even replace the Installer with ICY, but anyway, Installer was a good foundation & we thank RipDev for making it all happen.

Well, for me everything started with installer back on firmware 1.1.1... With the release of firmware 2, installer went worse and after that cydia was the one and only. I think discontinuing installer was the best step ripdev could do and it will help both users and developers. From now on we have two programs, cydia and icy, which are both independent from each other but are fully compatible with each other. Thank you RipDev, for installer and for your reputable step!

The only reason why i used installer was because of their vibration tweeks. Other than that, Cydia has been my only installer ever since 2.0 came out.

Yeah, thats exactly what I think. Installer used to be better than Cydia on 1.1.x and then Cydia took over on 2.x.
