If you follow MuscleNerd on Twitter (he is a member of the Dev-Team) you may already know this information but, this morning he twittered that the iPhone 3GS is being shipped with baseband 04.26.08. That is the baseband that ultrasn0w can be used on. Meaning, if the iPhone 3GS can be jailbroke, it can be unlocked using ultrasn0w.
There still no updated info since yesterday about the jailbreak for the 3.0 firmware (or now, the iPhone 3GS) or ultrasn0w. Like usual, we will hang out and wait for more info from the Dev-Team. For more info about ultrasn0w check out THIS post.

4 hours! Thats quick lol. I’m thinking of going with the white again when I get mine, don’t know why. Also I’m thinking of going screen protecter and rear protector free. Does the screen and rear scratch easily on 3Gs?

Yes, if you want it to be like your old iPhone. You have to restore from a backup.

I bought the new 3Gs and all I wish to do is “Jailbreak Only” (not unlock) will any of the newly released software work for only Jailbreaking the new 3Gs? I’m a lil confused since the new phone is running the 3.0 OS which the dev team has released software for and I’m not looking to unlock. Thank you…

Nevermind, Found the answer to my question, it must be due to the new Hardware on the 3Gs iPhone that is the exception to 3.0 OS Jailbreak. =(
