If you are a fan of Flight Control (or ladies, you are a fan of Sally’s Spa) you will want to take a look at Taxi Jam. Taxi Jam is a traffic control game in which you must navigate taxi cabs through busy city streets.

The object of the game is to pick up the customer, take them to a specific location and drop them off… all without crashing into any other taxis, getting run over by emergency vehicles and keeping the customer happy.

Once a person is dropped onto the map, you can navigate a taxi to them by dragging your finger along the path you would like it to take on the street. Once the customer has been picked up, the car will have a circle of color around it. The color indicates which location they will need to be dropped off at. Once the customer has been dropped off, you are free to use that taxi to pick up another customer.

There is no limit on the amount of taxis you can drag out of the garage, but you will want to keep it at a manageable amount! I thought three was a good number. You also want to keep your taxis from colliding. If they are going to crash, it will display an ! on top of the two taxis that are on the same path. Emergency vehicles will randomly speed through town. Their path is drawn on the map and you will want to stay out of the way or they will drive right over you. The game continues until you lose the five lives you are given. Lives are lost when crashing occurs or if a customer gets too impatient.

The longer you play the game, the more colors that are added as possible drop-off points. You are able to pause games in progress, turn the sounds on/off, turn the music on/off, upload scores and view the online leaderboard. The game contains three cities; New York, London and Paris however, London and Paris must be unlocked.

Overall, it is an extremely well designed application. The game play is nicely implemented, the graphics are very good and the sounds are quality. Definitely a game that you will come back to more than once. It is currently on sale for an introductory price of $0.99. Below are some screenshots and a demo video of the game.
