Please note you have to be on FW 3.1 in order to purchase from App Store

    • thank you for that note… I have noticed a few apps like that now.

    • Ok…, I take that back about the great app thing below. It would have been great if it was just 3.0 and later compatible. That is a load of BS dude!

    • I haven’t tried yet but you should just be able to buy in iTunes on your computer so you can get the discounted price and then just sync it to your iPhone when you update to 3.1

    • That is what I did. I am still on 3.0.1…and don’t plan on upgrading to 3.1 anytime soon…so I purchased this app in iTunes. Now it just sits in my apps and doesn’t sync…all I get is the message telling me that this app couldn’t sync because 3.1 software is required.

  2. Well, if it ain’t another jailbreak app makin’ it to the big times! LoL It’s a great app, nice to see it in the app store for everyone.

  3. Anybody havin problems with cydia? Mine wont fetch any data from my resources!!!!

    • I had the same issue. I deleted Rupert McGee repository or whatever its called and now it fetchs just fine

    • Cydia is broken I have the same problem. Try Rock your Phone it has the same items as Cydia except it is quicker.

  4. Yeah it’s great that it made it to the app store. More mullah for the developers. But I wish they would release a jb version too, cause I really liked being able to use the volume buttons to take pictures.

  5. I wonder if you could buy it in iTunes on your computer for the discounted price (if you don’t have 3.1) , and then sync when the 3.1 jailbreak for 3GS comes out.

  6. The more jailbreak apps that appear in the App store lessens my need to jailbreak. If I could just have custom icons (the background is less important) and a way to respond to texts without leaving an app, my jb days are over.

    • How do you respond to texts without leaving an app?

    • If you have a jailbroken phone there are several SMS apps that will allow this. It’s called Quick-Reply. The popular ones are iRealSMS, Bite SMS, My SMS and I think Quick SMS. Google them. It’s a very cool feature.

  7. I just bought Snapture on my iPhone. Did not have to use a pc. Just had to type in the whole app name and search.

  8. I bought this on cydia for $7.99.
Does this now mean no more updates for me because they will only update the itunes store one ? Do i have to buy it again ? i hope not it was a really nice app, but i think I’ve paid enough for it already.

    • I too purchased the jailbroken version and curious as to what happens for us.

    • Snapture looks like it has been removed from Cydia because if you search then it doesn’t show. Unless you already have it installed, then it will show that it has been installed from Unknown. I would try emailing the developers and see what they have to say!

    • I’ve found the following on iPhonehacks.com to a similar question there:

“We checked with the good folks at Snapture about your question and they’ve promptly responded with the following comment:

We are always going to do what’s best for our customers, but unfortunately AppStore is out of our control.

Apple has only given us 50 coupons for the press, that won’t suffice for our jailbreak customers even if we wanted to give it to them.

But rest assured that we’re going to do everything we can for our loyal customers over. The team is figuring out how we can help our old customers. We will let you know soon.”

I guess they are working on the problem. for now I’ll wait and see.

    • I’ve just received a email from snapture regarding a refund for the official iTunes appstore version of Snapture.

Go to the following site for more info.

      http://www.snapturelabs.com/letter1.html

However i am unable to complete the requested steps since i have not upgraded to firmware 3.1 for the iPhone. I did email them about this problem and am awaiting there response.

  9. Here’s a copy of the email I’ve sent, maybe its usefull for anybody with the same problem.

    Dear Snapture,

I’ve just got your email regarding the refund procedure for jailbreak customers.
This is great news and i am very happy you haven’t forgotten us.
However, there still is a slight problem. I’m sure you are aware that snapture only works on firmware 3.1,
but at the moment there still is no new jailbreak for windows machine users available.
So this leaves me kind of stuck with your refund procedure. I did buy the new version through the iTunes appstore.
But i am unable to install it to the iPhone as it requires firmware 3.1, and i am running 3.0, because like your great app,
there are still many more that did not make it in to the appstore and still require a jailbreak.
So i am unable to activate snapture on my phone at this moment.
I will wait for the new jailbreak for windows machines to become available, and then upgrade to firmware 3.1 for the iPhone.
After that i can start using your great app once more.
But in the meantime i cannot finish your refund procedure, and you state that the refund is for a limited time only.
I hope you have some advice for me how to proceed now.

And since you yourself started as a jailbreak app I’m sure you will not require your loyal first customers to give up
all the great other jailbreak apps in order to qualify for this refund of your new official app.

I’ve included the requested info for the refund procedure should you need it below.

    Best regards,
    LC, The Netherlands
