Will definitely look out for that but what I don't understand is that the MMS actually works on an iPhone 2G when AT&T insisted that it will only work on the 3G or 3GS iPhone. FYI, MMS still up and running on my iPhone 2G with unlimited data plan for a motorola razr.

Hey Rome,

Glad it works for you,but keep your eye out when they change or if you get a text or e-mail,they have the right to change your data plan regardless. I use two phones and no iphone account, but i have been using my iphone regardless,so they actually contacted me with a date ending about contacting them,so keep a eye out.

Can anyone here explain how and why is it possible to enable MMS on a 2G iPhone when AT&T advise that it would never work regardless?

I was actually just messing around and trying to see if the phone would actually work if I update its ipcc file to 5.0 under iTunes and when I did that I inserted my sim card which runs on my 3GS. After rebooting the phone and resetting the network, I began sending mms messages and have my friends to do the same and for some odd reason it worked.

So I decided to use a different sim card which ran on my motorola razr and added the data plan for mms capabilities. AT&T advise me that if the line reads that I'm using an iPhone and not the Razr that my mms will stop working....curious that I am, I used the iPhone anyways after I establish in the system that I have the Razr. After doin this the mms still works even as we speak, I actually verified that my device showing on my plan is now an iPhone and not the Razr. Despite of that information my plan stayed the same just like when I have the Razr and not the iPhone data plan.

Any feedback on this are gladly appreciated, Thanks!

somehow....accidentally rather, I got MMS, Tethering and Visual Voicemail to all work in harmony on 3.01 JB.....still don't know what I did and I can't replicate it on my friends phone. It must have something to do with the way I jailbroke it on 3.0?
