Heads up all, seems some are having issues with visual voicemail when switching back to ATT sim. To fix this reset network settings, go to visual voicemail, password is 0000 should work now ^^

You might want to try turning 3G off... I unlocked my iPhone 3G and used a SIM that didn't have a 3G connection and it appeared as "No Service". Just try turning 3G off.

Okay...

This RC3 version DOES NOT untether or unlock the iPod Touch 3rd Gens!! (RC1 works on my iPod Touch 2nd Gen, which I also own!)

My Touch already had 3.1.2 firmware on it, so I opened "Blackra1n" on my desktop, ran it "rained", immediately installed Cydia-Rock and Blackra1n icons on Touch...it loaded everything perfectly, like my 2nd Gen, then I REBOOTED...and it WIPED OUT my iPod and I spent the next 30minutes re-installing original firmware!!

So...GeoHot has still not found an "unlock/untether" cure for us 3rd Gen owners in this lastest release!

the jailbreak and unock worked perfectly.
just had to reboot after the unlock and then new sim/telco card worked!
originally locked to vodafone, and then recognised optus ;-)

3g, 3.1.2
