My Cydia started crashing on my today and I’ve heard of others having the same problem.
I’m looking for a fix and if I hear of one I’ll let everyone know. I’ve found a solution by searching Twitter :)
It seems the only people having trouble have the macciti/zodttd’s source. There is no need to restore your iPhone. Here is a simple fix:
– Connect to your iphone/ipod via either ssh, mobile terminal, ifile, diskaid or some other type of usb file system browser. Browse to /var/lib/apt/lists/
– Delete cydia.zodttd-1.com_repo_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages. Mine was actually /var/lib/apt/lists/cydia.zodttd.com_repo_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages.
I had the same problem the other day and it was ModMyI causing the problem. Then it happened again and deleted the ModMyI ones again and it fixed.
Thanks Douglas – works a treat. I could not make out what was happening!
Thanks Douglas.. You da man
THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!! I was literally about to go through the mega hassle of a restore!
Thanks Doug. I have noticed that Cydia reinstalled Zodttd.
This happened to me the other day too, cydia just wouldnt get past the loading screen, kept crashing back to the springboard.
Me and a friend had a play and deleted everything in the folder you are talking about, it works perfectly now and all my repos came back too.
I do not have SSH installed on my iphone, is there another way to correct my cydia not opening issue? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
Troy
do you have rock. If not do a google for rock and then download it. Rock will install ssh on your iphone,
Try iPhone browser:
http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/downloads/list
Just your phone into your computer and open the program.
Hey everyone i need help: when i click on cydia it opens for 1sec then clause automaticlly plz reply. Is there anyway to fix it without restoring my iphone?
Read the post.
Use ifile on ur iPhone. Works just like ssh
i had to use ifile to delete the ZodTTD source
/private/etc/apt/sources.list.d
u can openssh too
What’s the trick to getting MobileTerminal to work again? Ever since my 3.1.2 upgrade, it just crashes on startup.
I just restored the phone :(
Awesome!!! Was having trouble with this all week.
I got this problem:
GPG error: http://blahblah.com./
Release: The following signatures
were invalid:NODATAS 1 NODATA2
failed to fetch.
I’ve erased from everywhere in Cydia
var/lib/apt/list.
var/lib/apt/list/partial
and after downloading it still shows again.
Papa
deleting the contents of var/lib/dpkg/updates/ worked for me
thanks works for me too:)
Tried the author’s method, didn’t solve the problem. Tried this, resprung, opened Cydia, and it worked! Good thing too- I was getting worried I’d have to restore as well.
If I uninstall the zod source would the gameboy4iphone application uninstall as well?
