@Joe - ProSwitcher does rock and I have it! I will get a review of it out. Cydia has slowed down some but so have we. I'll try to get back to covering more from Cydia.

I'm surprised you didn't know about ProSwitcher. It's a great little backgrounder tool. It was meant to mimick the PALM Pre's interface of card switching/multitasking. I've been using a long time. It too is free and it's a great tool. I was an exclusive Kirikae user before I switched to ProSwitcher.

Sidenote: ty for posting this, I've been using kirikae because multiflo costs money, didn't know ProSwitcher existedtillni readnu post.

P.S. To appleiphoneschool.com: why don't you guys cover cool jailbroken app releases like this? I remember your article on multiflo, but ProSwitcher seems noteworthy to me. It seems the number of app reviews, or articles in general have been trickling in slower than they used to. No harm intended, I enjoy reading your articles, so we need more!!! :-)

I don't know if 4.0 will warrant me to want to upgrade to it. My 3GS as it stands is already like a full "fledged computer" jailbroken with all the bells and whistles that Apple/AT&T doesn't allow. From notifications on my home screen in any app thanks to Grip Growl, from notifications in my status bar thanks to Reminder, the ease of use of SBSettings making it easier to maneuver my phone without having to open settings app and open this and that screen and this and that menu. Safari Download Manager to allow me to actually download off the internet directly to my phone, iFile file system access and all its features are amazing! Lockscreen mods, Iconoclasm icon management, backgrounding apps like Backgrounder itself coupled with ProSwitcher or Multifl0w OR Kirikae (take your pick). 3G Unrestrictor, iProtect (a godsend for keeping snoops out of your phone) and I can't believe Apple doesn't pick up the slack with password management other than the lockscreen passcode.

I could go on and on and on. There are SO MANY benefits (at least for me) to jailbreaking. Apple seems to actually be behind the times and the hackers are millions of years ahead. The PALM Pre, Moto Droid and now Nexus One all put iPhone to shame in many departments. However, I still feel as far as quality Apple makes a better product. And I'm not just saying that. But I do appreciate being able to make my iPhone more MY PHONE! And less Apple's and AT&T's restricted phone. The iPhone was meant to be the beast that mine is lol.

But I feel so far (and this is without even knowing precisely what 4.0 has to offer) that 4.0 won't be worth it on the outset. Once it's jailbroken and there's time for the jailbreaking community to catch up with the newer version I will see if it's worth it for me. Right now DEFINITELY NOT! ;)

It make sense for them to add Flash support. I can't understand why they would leave it out.

So... would you buy an apple tablet if it didn't support flash?
I would think it would be really dumb on apples part to not make it flash compatible... so do you think flash would see its way onto the iphone 4.0 software... hmmm

There's no way that a firmware update will replace the need to jailbreak your iDevice. Apple won't be doing anything other than allowing apps to run in the background, but those of us who jailbreak can already do that and so much more that still won't be allowed by Apple/at&t.
