Firmware 3.1.3 Released

AppleApple has release a new firmware for the iPhone, version 3.1.3. This isn’t the new firmware we’ve all been waiting for. That’s either 3.2 or 4.0. This update just brings some bug fixes. As always, if you update from a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone, you will lose all jailbreak apps, themes, unlock, etc. The iPhone Dev Team already has a warning out and why not to update. Here is the list of changes in firmware 3.1.3:

– Improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
– Resolves issues where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
– Fixes but that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keybaord

  1. I updated and it unlocked internet tethering for me, i had tried loads of hacks previously to get tethering to work without success and finally i can use it.

    Anyone else noticed this?

  2. THIS ISNT WORTH THE UPDATE! I WOULD LOSE ALL MY JAILBROKEN APPS!

  3. Thank’s

  4. Not to mention there seem to be new reports that firmware 3.1.3 is causing battery reporting issues (the very thing Apple claimed to enhance in this update) and music playlist synching issues on iPod Touches.

I still see no point to 3.1.3. I had no plans on upgrading. Also I have a 3GS (pre-new bootrom) and I’m jailbroken.

  5. There is going to have to come a time where Apple is going to have to come to terms with jailbroken apps and such. It seems they may be trying to fight it but we will see. I’m sure it’s a huge headache for them.
