CustomBadges – Create Custom Badges

CustomBadges is an application that allows you to create custom badges… go figure! :) A custom badge can be added to any icon on your SpringBoard and can include; text, numbers, emojis, symbols… basically anything on your keyboard. It seems like it fits best to have a custom badge that is five characters or less. Once you have more than five characters it does not display correctly.

Just Mobile Xtand – The iPhone Stand of Stands

Ok, here is the deal, I was making dinner the other day (or maybe it was breakfast… I can’t remember) anyway… like most of my cooking escapades, I was using my iPhone for the recipe. And, as usual, Doug came in the kitchen halfway through my escapade only to find that my iPhone was dusted with flour, maybe had a sprinkle of seasoning on it and possible been garnished with a few droplets of water (though to my defense… he does always seem to come into the kitchen right in the middle of things when it is the craziest)! And, like usual, he looked at me in horror. “Opps… my bad!” [Read more…]

Analock HD – Customizable Lockscreen Mod

Analock HD is a simple, clean lock screen mod. The lock screen displays the current time, date, day of the week, temperature and weather conditions. And, like Sublime Lock HD, what I love most about this lock screen mod is how easy it is to customize… no coding involved!! I have actually been using this lock screen for a while now and I decided it was time to pass it along! Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to install, activate and customize the Analock HD lock screen mod.

Friday Night Movie Night: Graviboard [Video]

Tonight’s Friday Night Move Night is Graviboard, a mod that “brings gravity to the homescreen.” Once it is installed and activated, your icons are “affected by gravity”. Check out the video demo below. I personally have not installed this app. I just can’t bring myself to pay $2.99 for fun app. However, I am curious to know if you can tap on an icon to open an app while this mod is activated. I’m guessing you probably can not. If you have purchased this app… let me know in the comments what you think of it. You can get Graviboard via the BigBoss source.

MultiIconMover Updated – Now Compatible with iOS 4.2.1

MultiIconMover, a hack that allows you to move more than one icon at a time, has been updated in cydia to 1.0.0-1. The major part of the update is that the app is now compatible with iOS 4.2.1 (full changelog below). I actually find this app quite useful, though I would love to see the ability to move multiple apps into folders! Maybe the next update! For a full description of the MultiIconMover app… check out our previous post. You can get MultiIconMover in the BigBoss source.

2 Bluetooth Tactile Keyboard Cases for Your iPhone

I love the keyboard on the iPhone but if you would rather have a “real” keyboard here are a couple options for you. Both cases connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth. This means they will run on their own battery. The battery life for these keyboards should last over a month of normal use. Both keyboards also stay physically connected to your iPhone; one flips out, the other slides out. I’ll show you the one I like first, called the Keyboard Buddy Case. [Read more…]

Poll – Have you upgraded to iOS 4.2.1?

Today’s poll is out of sheer curiosity. Neither Doug nor I have upgraded to iOS 4.2.1. We are waiting for an untethered jailbreak… there are just too many things we miss when we are not jailbroke. Anyway, I was curious to see if you have taken the plunge… jailbreak or not.

Have you upgraded to iOS 4.2.1?

Gowalla 3.0 Integrates Facebook Places, Twitter, Foursquare & Tumblr (Crashing on Jailbroken iPhone)

Gowalla 3.0 now integrates Facebook Places, Twitter, Foursquare & Tumblr. It also has smarter check ins, predicting where you’re located based on your history. I think Foursquare already has that feature using a favorites feature. Another feature to help speed up checkins lets you start typing your message while you’re being located. This helps a lot in towns like mine where AT&T is VERY late to the game in 3G. Our EDGE is SLOW!!!! <--Rant Now, I can't see how this app works yet because it's crashing as soon as I open it. This happened before with a previous release and I'm pretty sure it's because my iPhone is jailbroken. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling and doing as some have suggested, removing and re-adding my login info under the settings app. Still not working. [Read more…]

Latest Version of Cydia Ported to iOS 2.x and 3.x

Saurik, the developer of Cydia, recently tweeted that he has ported the new version of Cydia to iOS 2.x and 3.x. The new version of Cydia is currently only available to people who jailbreak using the latest version of redsn0w. The best part of the latest Cydia is that it is much faster. Below is a list (compiled by ModMyi) of a few of the other features included in the new version. Maybe we will see an update in Cydia for the Cydia app… we have seen that before. I personally would love to have the faster version of Cydia!

AiS – Check Out the New Forum

A few days ago when we rolled out the newly designed AiS website, we also updated our forum. In doing so we lost all our previous forum info :( but, now we have a cool new forum! Anyway, MattyB was kind enough to inform us that the registration was not working for our new forum… which is obviously a problem!! Doug has fixed the issue and the registration is now working! We apologize if you already tried to register and were not able to. Now that everything is in working order… feel free to check out the new forum, register and start discussing! I’m headed over there right now to sign-up… no one steal my screen name before I get there!

Dev-Team – Losing GPS Functionality When Unlocking 06.15.00 Baseband

The Dev-Team has added another update to their blog post about the ultrasn0w unlock for iOS 4.2.1. The update talks about an issue with retaining GPS when unlocking iPhones with 06.15.00 baseband. It seems that some people on 06.15.00 are losing their GPS functionality when they unlock their device. The Dev-Team does not currently have a fix for this problem and says that, even though the problem does not occur for everyone, you should just assume you will lose GPS capabilities when ulocking 06.15.00. However, they are working on a fix for the problem. Check out the full details below.
