New Cydia “Manage Account” Feature

This is something I’ve been wanting in the App Store for a long time but I never thought of it working with Cydia. A new link when Cydia first opens allows you to see a list of all the apps you’ve paid for in the Cydia Store. They are linkable so you can just click on the link, install the app again and you’re all set. Again, would love to see this as an app store feature. [Read more…]

Stealth Cam – Take Pictures & Video When iPhone is Locked [video]

I’ve been wanting a hack like this for a while. I’ve been in stores when I wish I could take video secretly. Now I can! The hack is called Stealth Cam and once installed its super easy. Just open your camera app, choose whether you want to take a picture or video, then lock your iPhone. Now just hit a volume button and it will take a pic or start the recording depending on which setting you’re on. If taking a video you can stop it with the volume button too. That’s it! Once you hit unlock you’ll be right back at the camera app. Now all I need is a hack that lets the camera record or stream in the background! [Read more…]

FakeCarrier – Create Custom Carrier Name and Time String

FakeCarrier is an application that allows you to easily customize both your carrier name and time string in the Status Bar. The app is super simple to use. Once installed, it has three options; Fake Carrier, Fake Time and Show BatteryLevel. To change the carrier or time string just open the option, type your custom message into the space provided and select Set. The string will instantly change without having to close the app or respring your device… this is a nice feature because then you can instantly see what your custom string looks like and if you do not like it, you can just change it right there. To get the stock Carrier name of Time string back, just tap Reset. Simple and easy.

RoundCorners – Round the Corners of your iDevice’s Screen

RoundCorners is a mod that rounds the corners of your iDevice’s screen. It basically creates a mask for your device that gives everything rounded edges. Because it is a mask, it rounds the corners of whatever is displayed on the screen. This includes everything; SpringBoard pages, Stock Applications, App Store Applications, Webpages… etc. The mod actually has a few settings. The settings are located in the stock Settings application. The settings include; the ability to turn the mod on/off, Premode (which allows you to round the entire page… including the statusbar… or just the page), the ability to change the radius of the rounded corned (making it more or less rounded), the ability to turn the mod off in GameMode… etc.

iCarbons – Carbon Fiber Skins

iCarbon skins are one of the best carbon fiber effect skins for iDevices around today! The skins come in white or black, with a carbon fiber look and feel. The skins are available for a variety of Apple devices and other devices too.

I was lucky enough to receive an iPad skin and a iPod Touch skin from iCarbons to review and I’ve got to say, I am very impressed! The skins are extremely easy to install and look amazing. They add minimal bulk to your device and are also scratch proof!

To install the skins all you need to do is peel the skin off of the backing sheet, align it with your device and then stick and push any bubbles out. I did have a little mishap when applying to my iPod Touch in which a corner wouldn’t stick down, but using a hair dryer on a low heat setting, I was able to heat the skin slightly and it then stick down with no problems.

PageLock – Remove SpringBoard Page Scrolling Ability

PageLock is a hack that removes the ability to scroll through the pages on your SpringBoard. I know what you thinking, “So how in the world am I going to get to my next page of apps?” I’ll be honest, I was thinking the same thing! So, I installed the hack and gave it a try. What I found is that it does indeed stop the ability to scroll between pages on your SpringBoard however, you are able to tap next to the page dots on the bottom of the SpringBoard to go to the next page. Tap to the left of the page dots to scroll left and tap to the right of the page dots to scroll right.

Pull To Refresh Safari – Another Sweet Hack

If you read my previous article about the Pull to Refresh For Mail hack… then you probably already know my feelings about Pull to Refresh Safari. I LOVE it! I don’t know if I’m a “pull to refresh” addict or what but I just love these hacks!

As the title suggests, this hack adds the ability to “pull to refresh” in the stock Safari application. To use the hack you just pull the Safari page down past the address bar and your page will automatically refresh.

iGotYa – Take & Email Picture When Wrong Passcode Entered

If you’d like to add a little more security to your iPhone or iPod touch check out iGotYa. If you type in the wrong code for your passcode lock, it takes a picture with the front facing camera and emails you the picture along with the current location. It costs $6 but there is a 10 day trial. I testing it out by setting up a passcode lock and giving it to my son. It worked withing about 30 seconds. This would be a nice addition to the “find my iPhone” feature but since I’m still on firmware 4.1 it will be a great alternative.
