iOS 6 Now Available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

The new iOS 6 firmware for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been released. You can learn about the new features here: apple.com/ios/whats-new

First thing I would suggest is backing up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Either back it up in iTunes or use iCloud. I use iCloud so here’s what to do: Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > and scroll to the bottom. It should show the last backup and a button to “Back Up Now”. If it can’t be tapped, you need to be on Wifi. If it’s plugged in and on Wifi then it will do it automatically periodically. Here are the devices that can be updated to iOS 6.

To download, just go to your Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch > General > Software Update. Note: You must be on wifi to download the update. Once your device reboots and you see the progress bar you can leave wifi.

Also, Apple’s licensing for YouTube has expired so the app does not come with the new Apple iOS 6 software. You will have to download it from the App Store for free. Here’s the link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/youtube/id544007664?mt=8

  1. Apple has made all there updates (Lion 10.8.2 & IOS 6) available at the same time and I can’t download any of them as it fails (ierr = 3259) presumably from demand.

    I don’t queue.

  2. One thing I probably like about Apple is that the updates are spread too quickly rather than having the users to wait like Android.. Love you Apple <3
