Nexa & Prime – 2 Clean Fonts for BytaFont

BytaFont is a great way to make a huge change to the look of your iPhone. You can change the fonts of your Dialer, Calculator, Keyboard, Lockscreen Clock, Notes and the entire system. BytaFont needs to update to get every font working in iOS 6.1 so if you see a couple places where the font hasn’t changed, hopefully there will be an update soon. Here are a couple that I’ve been using latley since I’ve jailbroken my iPhone 5. [Read more…]

AppCap – Add Day, Time, Frequency and WiFi Restrictions to Apps

AppCap is a hack that allows you to set parameters on the day, time, amount of time and the number of times you can launch an application. When I heard about this hack, I knew I would have to check it out. We have four boys and our oldest, who is six, is extremely iPhone savvy… like father, like son. He does really well following the guidelines we put on his phone and it has a password that we have to enter before he is able to use it but an extra precaution couldn’t hurt right. Or, not going to lie, I might use this app to keep myself off Facebook!! [Read more…]

NCSettings – System Toggles for Notification Center

I discovered this hack on accident… kind of. NCSettings is a toggle hack and I already have SBSettings installed (another toggle hack). I wasn’t really looking to replace it, however I was looking for an easier way to toggle my mute on/off. Why you ask… because my mute switch is broken. Sad day. I blame it on children. The need to turn the mute switch on and off a million times a day apparently was not tested thoroughly. Apple really should have tested the mute switch on mothers of young children. ANYWAY… my mute switch is broken and I was getting seriously sick of moving my Accessibility AssistiveTouch button around constantly so that I could tap on things. And then Evasi0n was released and there were tears of joy (ok, there were not really tears of joy but I was happy). [Read more…]

Subway Surfers – Video App Review

Denver, my son, wanted to show you his most recent favorite game in the App Store. It’s called Subway Surfers and it’s a lot like Temple Run only you’re running from the police… The goal is to collect coins to get upgrades like fasters shoes and different characters. Check out the video and download it free in the App Store. [Read more…]

ColorClock – Change Color of Time and Date on Lockscreen

ColorClock is a unique mod that allows you to change the color of both the time and the date on your lockscreen. I will say that this mod might not be for everyone. It is based on the RGB color codes and doesn’t have a crazy UI or anything… it’s pretty simple. Once you have installed ColorClock via Cydia, you will find the controls in your stock Settings application. Below is a screenshot of what the controls look like. Basically, you are creating a color based on RGB decimal color codes. The sliders go in order Red, Green, Blue. [Read more…]

Message Bubble Colors – Change Chat Bubble Colors

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to mod the chat bubbles in your Messages app, Message Bubble Colors is a mod worth checking out! It is a nicely designed, simple modification with a decent amount of color options. Once you have installed Message Bubble Colors in Cydia, you can go into WinterBoard to activate the color options. AppCent – Show Percentage During App Install

This is a simple app that just changes the “loading…” text under an icon to the percentage number during installation. This app adds no icon and can be turned on and off in the Settings app. [Read more…]

SBSettings in Notification Center

One of the first applications I install after jailbreaking my iPhone is SBSettings, an application that allows you to quickly toggle settings on your device. It allows me to do some of my favorite hacks (see screenshots below) and it also allows me to quickly adjust my brightness, toggle my WiFi and Respring my device… things I do fairly often. Plus, I’m an old school jailbreaker and it has sentimental value. :) [Read more…]

Cydia and Repos Overloaded, Expect Errors

Many factors have caused some of the largest amounts of jailbreaking ever. First, there are just more people with iPhones. People who’ve bought the iPhone 5 that had an iPhone before have either passed their old one down or sold it. Also, the low pricing of the iPhone 4S at $99 and the iPhone 4 for free, both with 2 year contracts, have cause more people the ability to own an iPhone. There is also a new generation of jailbreakers to add to the old and all have been waiting months since the last jailbreak. [Read more…]

Evasi0n Jailbreak Tutorial Video for iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1 [Mac]

Last night I made a video of the process of jailbreaking an iPhone 5 on a Mac using the new Evasi0n software. You can get the jailbreak program at evasi0n.com for free. It’s really easy but I recommend watching the video below first, it includes some more information about jailbreaking. Evasi0n iOS 6.0 & 6.1 Jailbreak Now Available for All Devices! Including iPhone 5 & Retina iPads

The new jailbreak named Evasi0n has finally been released and we have already jailbroken 2 iPhone 5s and an iPhone 4S. The first thing you need to know is you will need to remove your passcode lock from your iPhone. There are known problems during the jailbreak if your passcode lock is on. Once the jailbreak process is over, you can add your passcode lock back. Another thing to know is the servers are getting hit really hard right now and Cydia is loading slow. Be patient and check back every once in a while. We’ll let you know how things are as we keep testing. If you have no idea where to start you should wait for our video demo. Otherwise, head over to evasi0n.com and follow the instructions. Check back here for more info soon! [Read more…]
