Since today is Valentine’s Day we’ve got something pink to give away! We have an Otterbox Defender Series Strength edition case. This case is pink, but not for Valentines. The case we are giving away will only fit the 1st Gen iPhone. [Read more...]
Someone recently sent us a link to this sweet new alternative to external batteries for the iPhone. Here is a link to some previous articles and reviews we’ve done on external batteries. This case is pretty sweet ’cause it lets you charge and sync the iPhone, not just charge. We’ll do what we can to get a hold of one from Incase.

I just got a $50 gift card for Best Buy for Christmas. Here are some ideas I could spend it on for the iPhone. Got any others? Anyone used the A/V Cable before? We’ve done a review of the DLO Portable Speakers and they are pretty nice. Let me know what you think in the comments. I’m open to non-iPhone ideas too!
Apple® – Composite A/V Cable for Apple® iPod™ – $49.99
DLO – Portable Speakers for Apple® iPod® and iPhone – $39.99
Zagg – InvisibleSHIELD Screen Protector for Most Apple® iPhone 3G – Clear – $16.79

Yesterday, we heard news that the developer’s of Snapture, a camera enhancement application, have designed a flash for the iPhone called SnaptureFlash. The product is currently still a prototype as they look for funding for the product. But, it definitely looks promising. I personally would love to see the release of this type of product. There are times when the iPhone’s camera just doesn’t cut it in low/no light. Gizmodo had the opportunity to get there hands on one of the prototypes and has a nice article about it. You can check it out HERE. Below are the product specs and some screenshots of what the SnaptureFlash looks like. For more info about SnaptureFlash check out their website.

This is my favorite iPhone accessory ever. The Mophie Juice Pack is super light, stylish, and works very well. Check out our video review and let us know in the comments if you have any questions.
The Richard Solo 1800 is an external battery for the iPhone or iPod Touch. You just charge it up using the mini usb cord provided and then attach it to your iPhone for double the battery life. Here is our video review of the Richard Solo 1800 using an iPhone 3G. This battery is compatible with all iPhones, iPod Touches and iPods (excluding the shuffle).

I was totally stoked when I was checking out our News page (which Doug updates) and saw that mophie is working on their Juice Pack for the 3G iPhone! The Juice Pack is a really nice, sleek, battery extender for the iPhone and iPod Touch. There are a ton of great features with the Juice Pack but one of the nicest features is that you can still plug your iPhone into your computer while the Juice Pack is on via mini USB (which is provided when you purchase a Juice Pack). This allows you to sync and charge both your iPhone and/or the Juice Pack while it is on your iPhone.
Another thing I noticed is that they have stepped up the performance a little from the Juice Pack for the First Gen iPhone giving you even more battery life for the iPhone 3G. However, the price has not changed. The Juice Pack for the iPhone 3G is $99.95 and is available for pre-order. They start shipping the product on October 30th…just in time for the Holidays!!

Tomorrow Apple is set to announce a new product. Most believe it will be updates for the MacBook and MacBook Pro and may include a trimmed down MacBook or NetBook that is around $800. This would be a light weight laptop built for mostly web or light weight apps. As great as all this sounds there may be something else, not coming from Apple, that integrates with your iPhone. It’s called the OLO computer. The feature that sets it apart from anything Apple has is the iPhone dock positioned right where the trackpad goes. I’ve thought about this and there are pros and cons to the whole idea. Now all we have is a picture and no specs so everything will be pure speculation.

Pros include the OS of the laptop which is OS X. Not sure how Apple is going to like that but I do. Other obvious features would be the iPhone charges while in the dock, you’ll have access to all your music, contacts, etc. and the iPhone would be your mouse so you would most likely have multitouch options. As many of you know, Doug and I both are fans of OtterBox iPhone cases. In the past we have done a reviews of both the Defender and Armor Series Cases. Until just recently, the cases were not available for the iPhone 3G. However, you are now able to get the Defender Series case for the iPhone 3G. It is currently only available in black but will soon be available in White, Pink and Yellow/Black. Not only that, it seems they have improved the case from the first version. Below is a snippet from the press release; [Read more...]

JustMobile has just released a stand for both the 1st Gen iPhone and the iPhone 3G. It’s made out of aluminum and has rubber feet so it won’t slide around. Being made out aluminum makes it a little light for my liking although it’s not really sliding around too much on me like I thought it would. It comes with rubber mounts for all four corners of the iPhone and are interchangeable for both 1st Gen and iPhone 3G. There is a hole in the back of the stand for your USB cord but only the USB to computer part fits through it. The end that connects to the iPhone doesn’t fit so if you’re cord is plugged into the computer you have to unplug it to get the stand detached. It also rotates for horizontal viewing and you can adjust the height slightly. The stand costs about $40 and is distributed in the US by nuCourse Distribution. Visit the Xtand website at xtand.net. Arkon will be releasing 9 new iPhone car mounts in September. The sweet thing is they will work for both 1st Gen iPhones and the iPhone 3G. There is a windshield suction mount, cup holder mount, removable air vent mount, bicycle handlebar mount, sun visor mount, friction dash mounts (aka “bean bag mounts), passenger side seat bolt floor mount, and a multi angle adhesive dash mount.
The hardest part will be choosing from them all and that’s why we’re working with Arkon to get you reviews of all of them. That way you’ll know what works for you. I’m pretty excited about the bicycle mount. I’ve been riding my bike to work everyday and it would be sweet to use some of the navaigtaion apps like Speed. [Read more...]

Doug and I had been discussing a few days ago how quickly the iPhone 3G’s battery goes dead…I will say, with confidence, that the first gen iPhone’s battery life is much better than the iPhone 3G’s battery life!! Well, the next day, Doug sent me a link to a solar powered iPhone 3G case! It seems that the guys over at Mobile Fun feel our pain and have developed a case that can recharge your iPhone 3G using direct sunlight. According to Solar Feeds, it will take around 3 hours to charge the battery on your iPhone 3G to a level in which your iPhone can function. It would take around 10 hours to fully charge your iPhone 3G. It also comes with a mini USB option in case you do not have any direct sunlight. Overall, [Read more...]
Doug wrote an article about Colorware, a company that will permanently color your iPhone, not too long ago. However, at the time, the process was not yet available for the iPhone 3G. Well, it is now available! Below is a break-down of the color options, price and an example screenshot.

More and more reasons to visit our Forum! juanciao from the forums private messeged me a link to a video about Golden Shellback. It is a “coating produces a vacuum deposited film that is nonflammable, has low toxicity and has the ability to weatherproof electronic devices and other surfaces. It contains no volatile organic combustibles (VOCs). The clear, nearly non-detectable, uniform film is insoluble in solvents. When applied to clean, moisture free surfaces, such as plastic, copper, aluminum, metal, ceramic, steel, tin or glass, the coating is transparent with excellent weather proofing and anti-corrosion properties.”
It is placed all over the device, inside and out. It’s not available yet but pricing is expected to be between $50 to $75 per device. See their site at golden-shellback.com for more info. Check out this video which includes a demo on an iPod Touch: [Read more...]
