TuneWiki 1.1 Update

TuneWikiLet the lyric syncing begin! TuneWiki has announced their competition to see who can sync the most lyrics accurately. The top 3 at the end of February will receive an iPod Touch! Also, 5 random winners from the top 100 will receive an iPod Nano. They will also start a new competition in March and possibly each month for a few months. If you were having troubles with the update it’s because tens of thousands of you were trying to update all at once. TuneWiki’s servers have been now upgraded to a T3 connection and they hope to have everyone updated with in a day. So, enough about the contest, here’s the updates to the app:

– Welcome page explains how to sync and submit your contribution. Seems like most new users did not dig it.
– New help button. Click it. If you can read it, you are under 35 years old for sure.
– New shuffle button. the number 1 request!
– New alpha slider on song list. the number 2 request!
– The ‘sync’ song annoying pop-up will only pop once. Number 3 request!
– the ‘sync’ button color simply change to red if the song is not synced yet. just tap away…
– Feedback – a green line will show you a successfully submitted sync to the server with your user ID

TuneWiki 1.0

TuneWiki TuneWiki opens to a list of all the artists on your iPhone. You can change it to a list of song titles by tapping the “song” icon at the bottom of the screen. Tapping an artist then shows all albums by that artist and then you choose the album then song. Tapping the song title plays the song, displays album art and lyrics. You also have volume, play, pause, prev & next; playback time that you can slide to adjust. The current line of lyrics is in bold and the next line shows below it with lighter text. Just tap the album art to advance to the next line. Some songs actually advance on their own. Jeremy Camp’s Right Here didn’t although Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River did. Kelly Clarkson’s Because of You pulled in the lyrics for her Over The Rainbow. If the Re-Sync button is blue, the lyrics are already synced to the song, if it is read, you have to tap to advance lyrics the first time, then it saves it for next time. The reason for all of this, [Read more…]

NES 2.0.1 Update

NES Here is what the change log shows for updates:

Fixed preference groups to appear with correct headings
Cleaned up orientation changes and fixed scrambled screen bug
Added NSAutoreleasePool
Added LayerKit transitions for aesthetics

In English that means your games are now under lettered categories (see screenshot) and you can browse through them like your contacts by selecting a letter from the far right. There are also nice transitions from the menus to the games with the controller smoothly gliding in. So it’s prettier and more organized :)

iWoman

iWoman Developer’s description of app: Keep track of your monthly cycles.

Well ladies…now that we have scared off all the curious guys with the developer’s description, lets talk about this app (it actually has a few very useful features). When you open the app for the first time you will need to put in some initial information. If you select the bottom date – the only entry that is editable – it will open to a screen where you can put in the dates of your most current period (or you can start back as far as you can remember but, you only need one period’s start and finish date for the app to work). It will automatically figure out the duration of your period and the number of days in your cycle. From there you can put in more specific information for every day of your period (check out the screenshots). Once you have at least one period duration entered [Read more…]

Sketches

SketchesDeveloper’s description of Productivity app: Jot down your notes and drawings; shake like an etch-a-sketch to erase.

This app has a ton of great features. It opens to a gray screen (your drawing area). Before you being drawing you will want to choose the color and size of your tool, there a a few options for this, see screenshots below. Once you have that chosen you can begin drawing by dragging your finger along the screen. If you would like to erase a mark you just made you can tap the arrow on the bottom left of the screen, which is nice if you have already drawn a ton and just messed up…no fear, just erase only that mark! If you would like to erase the entire drawing, [Read more…]

iPong

iPongDeveloper’s description of game: Network pong client for iPhone.

In order to play iPong on your iPhone you would need to play against another iPhone via a local network. The game gives you the option to change the host name, change the port and whether or not to activate the networking. However, so far, you are not actually able to play this game on a network. We will update you when a fix is available. iPong is available through the AppTapp Official source. Screenshots:
