There are some hosting issues. So, if you are have problems downloading apps from the BigBoss source, make sure you update to version 3.85 of Community Sources.

Update: The update to version 3.85 solves a DNS issue that BigBoss was having. Apparently his DNS company decided to block his domain name – making is his email, website and repository go down. So, the update to Community Source make some changes so that BigBoss’s stuff will work again. If you would like to contact BigBoss, his new email address is bigboss@bigboss.us.com. Also, if you update your Community Source and the BigBoss repo shows up under Untitled Source, keep refreshing your sources until it shows up under Community Sources again.

When I went back into my Installer it showed I still had the update plus it showed that it had Installed…but, it didn’t overwrite my previous version of Community Sources. So, I uninstalled both, restarted my iPhone and reinstalled Community Sources 3.7-1 again. So, after all of that (which it refreshes your sources every time you uninstall and reinstall Community Sources and it seriously takes my Installer at least 10 minutes to refresh!) I found out that BigBoss’s source url has changed, the new url is – http://thebigboss.org/repo.xml.

So, the previous version of Community Sources (version 3.7) included the Conceited Software, Ste Packaging, ModMyiFone.com, BigBoss’s Apps and Things (BigBoss for short) and iPod Touch Fans sources. The update just changes the url for the BigBoss source. Below are the screenshots:

The previous version of the Community Sources (version 3.3) included the Conceited Software, Ste Packaging and ModMyiFone.com and the BigBoss’s Apps and Things (BigBoss for short) sources. The update does not add a source instead, changes the url for the Ste Packaging source. The new url is – http://repo.smxy.org/iphone-apps/. Once you have updated…you will see New and Improved in the tag line of the new Ste Packaging Source in your Installer. The reason for the new url is that Ste has acquired a few sponsors who have chipped in to get better servers and more bandwidth for the Ste repo!! As of yesterday morning the move to the new servers was complete and the source should be working correctly. To see all the info about the new url check out Ste’s website.
