ContactFlow is not a new application…we had ContactFlow back in the day (firmware 1.1.4 and below). I’m not sure if this is the same app by the same developer with a slightly new interface or if it is a completely different application! Either way, we have had a similar application in the past (with the exact same title!).

ContactFlow is basically another way to view your contacts. When you open ContactFlow you will get a Cover Flow style list of all your contacts that have images. Note: It will only display contacts that have images assigned to them (see instruction below on how to add images to contacts). You can then scroll through your contacts by swiping your finger on your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen. You can also jump to a certain letter by selecting the little magnifying glass icon…which will then bring up the alphabet and you can select a letter. The two arrows at the top of the screen allow you to quickly go to either your first or your last contact.

To view a contact’s information, you can either tap on the contact or you can select the “i” icon at the bottom of the screen. When you select a contact, the image will flip over and display the phone numbers available for that contact. You can then either call one of the phone numbers or send it a text message. Both features worked flawlessly when I tested them.

I also noticed that when you end a call, it will bring you back into the ContactFlow application. Overall, a simple application but, it is nicely designed. I also found it to be a sturdy app…I had no issues with crashing, all the features worked quickly and correctly and I did not experience any glitching while scrolling through contacts (though, I do not have a ton of them). You will have to let me know in the comment how it works for you.

How to add Photos to your Contacts:
1. Go into your stock Phone application
2. Go into Contacts
3. Select a Contact
4. Select Edit
5. Tap on Add Photo in the upper left corner
6. You can then choose to take a photo or choose an existing photo
*If you choose to take a photo…it will open your Camera…you can take the picture…then move and scale it and then set it as your Photo.
*If you choose to choose an existing photo…it will bring you to your Photo Albums where you can choose a photo and then select Set Photo.
7. Now you will see the added photo and it will show up in ContactFlow.

Version 0.95 of ContactFlow makes yet some more changes to the app. When you open the app you will now notice little arrows at the top…if you tap the arrow in the upper left corner it will scroll you to the beginning of your contacts…if you tap the arrow in the upper right corner it will bring you to your last contact. Which is pretty cool…better than your finger cramping from too much scrolling!! Also, when you tap on a contact…the display page has changed once again…the design is different and arrows have been added next to each phone number/email (maybe so people know to tap on a number to call it?). I personally like the display page better in version 0.93…some one need to hack it so I can have all the features of 0.95 but the display page of 0.93…maybe I will take a look at it! Anyway!! ContactFlow is available through the SOS iPhone source and below are the screenshots of the new changes. Also, version 0.95 seems to run smoother on my 1.1.1.

I was actually surprised by the amount of changes that came with version 0.93 of ContactFlow. The app now opens with only the Contacts that have photos…instead of opening with all your contacts and putting the iPod Girl image in for the ones that did not have photos. There are also some new options in the menu; you can select for the app to show all your contacts (but instead of the iPod Girl you get a white screen with the silhouette of a person…I personally like it much better then the iPod Girl…she clashed with the rest of my iPhone) and you can choose to order the contacts by First name or by Last name. Also, when you tap on a contact and the photo flips over to display all the available number/emails for that contact you will see a new and improved background, arrow and…check out the little sunburst under the thumbnail of the photo! This app is still glitchy on 1.1.3 but, it seems to work fine on 1.1.1. I think it could have to do with the amount of contacts Doug has on his 1.1.3 (he is a little obsessive about his Contacts!), I don’t have nearly as many contacts on my 1.1.1. ContactFlow is available through the SOS iPhone source. Below are the screenshots.

Dude…version 0.9b of ContactFlow is sooo sweet!! Now, when you open the app it opens directly to the photos of your Contacts (instead of a menu like in the previous version). If you don’t have a photo for a contact it just gives you the same iPod girl image as before. What is cool is that when you tap on a photo…it flips over and displays all the phone numbers you have entered for that contact as well as their email address…just tap on the number you would like to call and it will call it or tap an email address and it will open a new email to that Contact (just tap the arrow in the upper right corner to flip the Contact back over). What is even cooler is the little “i” icon in the lower right corner…tap that and you will get the menu where you have options to turn on/off Show Email Address and Direct Call (which works the same as in the previous version). But, the best part…drum roll please…this now works on 1.1.1!! I could never get this app to work and now it does!! I’m sooo excited…YAY!!! I do wish you that you still had the option to turn off all the contacts that don’t have photos and display only the ones that have photos…but, overall, I still think this app is super sweet! ContactFlow is available through the SOS iPhone source. Below are the screenshots.
Now when you open the app you will get a main menu including the options to turn on/off; Displaying All Contacts, Showing the contacting emails, putting the contacts in Alphabetical order and direct dialing of contacts. If you turn on Display All contacts you will get a little an iPod Girl image for those contacts that do not have photos, if you turn on Show E-mails it will also dispaly any email addresses for the contact you select which you can then tap on and it will open a new email going to the email address you selected, if you turn on Alphabetical order…it will obviously put your contacts in alphabetical order and if you turn on Direct Call Contact it will call the contact without giving you the pop-up however, the contact can only have one phone number listed for them and no email address (if you have that option turned on in the settings). After you have changed everything to the way you would like it tap Save in the upper left corner…to get into the Contact List tap Go in the upper right corner. I think this is a great update to this app. I do think the app should open directly to the Cover Flow and then have some sort of button to get into the menu…so that you do not have to go through the menu every time. Also, this app still does not work on 1.1.1…it worked like the first two times I tried to call a contact from then on it just goes back to my SpringBoard…but, it still works great on a 1.1.3!! This app is available through the SOS iPhone source. Below are the screenshot:

This is a pretty cool new app! Think AppFlow (now XLaunch) only with your contacts! ContactFlow opens to this SWEET Cover Flow style contact list of your contacts photos. You can then tap on a photo and call that contact. When you tap on a photo…you will get a pop-up giving you the available numbers for that contact and the option to cancel…just tap on the option you would like. After the call is finished it will bring you back to the ContactFlow app. This app is actually in a French source but…the app itself is in English…so it’s all good. This app worked great on 1.1.3 however, on 1.1.1 it will run the app but not make the call…when you tap on a photo it just brings you back to the SpringBoard (I’m sure one of your hackers out there can figure out how to fix that!!). ContactFlow is available through the SOS iPhone source. Below are the screenshots:
