If you do not have a passcode set for your device, and you select an application from the multitasking dock while on the lock screen, it will automatically take you from the lock screen directly into that application. If you do have a passcode, and you select an application from the multitasking dock while on the lock screen, it will require you to enter your passcode and then will bring you directly into the application you selected.
I did notice that after you select an app from the multitasking dock (while on the lock screen), the passcode keyboard disappears pretty quickly. So, you will want to start typing in your passcode as soon as the keyboard appears or it will disappear and you will have to go back into multitasking and select your app again. Hopefully this will be fixed with an update. NOTE: This can actually be changed in the app’s settings. If you go into the Lock Screen Mode option and then the Dim after dismiss option… you can increase the time before the screen dims and thus the keyboard disappears. Read more
Direct Closer is a simple little hack that, when you double-tap the Home Button to get to the multitasking apps, it automatically puts them into “wiggle” mode so they can be removed. Normally, you would have to double-tap the Home Button and then tap and hold an icon in the multitasking dock in order to get the apps into “wiggle” mode so that they can be removed. This app just makes this process a little faster by automatically putting them in “wiggle” mode. However, in order to switch to another app (using the multitasking dock), you have to tap the Home Button once to turn off the “wiggle” mode and then tap the app you would like to switch too. So, depending on how you use your multitasking dock… this app might not be for you. Check out the screenshots below. You can get Direct Closer via the BigBoss source. Read more
It seems that Saurik (the developer of Cydia) has recently required Rock Your iPhone. For those of you who are not familiar with Rock Your iPhone, it is another application used to install jailbroken apps onto your device. Some of you die-hard Rock Your iPhone fans might be freaking out a little bit but, Saurik has written up a detailed FAQ section on Cydia… below are a few of the biggies. Read more
Sleek Elite HD is a theme for SBSettings (an application that allows you to quickly toggle settings on your device). There are two things I really like about this theme; it’s well designed and it has 31 icons. I’m pretty sure that covers about ever toggle available for SBSettings! Check out the screenshots below. You can get Sleek Elite HD via the modmyi source. Read more
MiDarkTheme is a dark theme (obviously) that contains 36 icons, a dock, status bar, lockscreen background, wallpaper, SMS mod, Safari mod, Phone mod, pop-up mod, Calculator mod, badges, page dots… etc. Overall it is a decently designed theme. There are a few things that could be a little cleaner… like the Safari loading mod but overall it’s not too bad. You can get MiDarkTheme via the modmyi source.
Note: There is no Stocks icon for this theme. Read more
LinkShrink is an application that allows you to quickly shorten URLs. The app gives you the option to use one of four services to shorten your URL; TinyURL, is.gd, tr.im or rfly.me. Using the app is quick and easy… copy the URL you would like to shorten, open LinkShrink, paste your URL, choose your shortening service and click ‘Shorten URL.’ You are then able to copy the new shortened URL. The copied URL is put into your device’s clipboard and is ready to be pasted wherever you need it. Read more

This app is a very nice way do display all apps that are running in the background. It works on the iPhone or iPad. Since the iPad doesn’t natively support backgrounding, this is a nice way to switch between apps. It will also work with the new 4.0 software and can be activated in pretty much any way you’d like using activator. Once you have some apps running in the background and you bring up Multifl0w, you can rearrange the order of the apps by dragging them around. Here’s a few screenshots and a video demo.
One of the best hacks for the iPhone, SBSettings, now works with firmware 4.0. This hack let’s you swipe the status bar and a drop down menu pops out with all kinds of quick settings like brightness adjustment and toggles for wifi, bluetooth and 3G. There are different themes, all kinds of info like running processes, IP address, & memory. Best of all, it’s free. This is a must have app!
ATTENTION 4.0 USERS: Currently an activator bug prevents the SBSettings window from appearing in some apps. For the time being, load settings, activator, and set SBSettings also to short hold home so you can hold home button to also bring up sbsettings in apps.
3G Unrestrictor has been updated to work with iPhone 4 and firmware 4.x. You know what this means! FaceTime calls anywhere! Now we’ve tested this out, and really it works better on 3G than it does on EDGE but it does work. Once installed you can just open the app and select apps you’d like to fake out. This makes them think your phone is on Wifi instead of 3G or EDGE. Other apps that this can help with instead of FaceTime are the App Store, which won’t let you download apps over 20MB. This goes for videos in iTunes too. Although Skype recently announced the use of Skype over 3G, you can avoid additional costs if they ever do decide to charge for it. Another place this will help is when videos download over 3G they are compressed more which makes them more blurry. With 3G Unrestrictor, YouTube thinks it’s on Wifi and will download the full resolution version. Read more
This app allows you to take pictures or video with the volume buttons instead of trying to hit the little button on the screen. It should help you to keep the camera more still and keep from blurry photos. This only works when the camera app is open or other apps using the camera feature. The news here is that it had been updated to work with 4.0 firmware so now you can use it to take HD 720p video! This is one of my top jailbreak apps that I just gotta have. Read more

This app is really simple. You just tap the icon, it toggles your Bluetooth and closes. Just one tap and you can turn on or off your Bluetooth. This should work on all iPhones and iPod touches but I could not get it to work on my iPad Here’s a little video of how it works:
Apple makes the claim that all of the existing iPhone apps will run on the iPad. This is true but unless the developer updates their app to run on the iPad it looks like this:
That is Facebook and Twitter for the iPhone. At the time of writing this article there were no official alternatives for the iPad for these apps. This is what you would be stuck with. Oh, wait, Apple made this little button down in the bottom right that says 2x. Look what this does: Read more
When making a call on FaceTime it’s very natural to hold the phone in a vertical position since that’s how it’s held during a normal phone call. Did you know that you can rotate your iPhone to the horizontal position too? It works best if both callers do this. Check out the screenshots to see Read More...
