NeverputtME is a game that has been out for a little while now via Installer…for firmware 1.1.4 and below. It is a putting game, created by Lazrhog, that is based on the Neverball engine. I actually tested this game when it first came out however, like Neverball, it is impossible to get screenshots of the application. Well, we finally got some screenshots! So, time for a review! When you open NeverputtME, you will get the info screen where you will get a little bit of information about the app. To get to the Main Menu of the app, select the Play option in the upper left corner.
You will then be brought to the main menu which has two options; Play and Help. Help will give you hints on how to play the game. If you select Play you are able to choose a course. As you drag your finger across the course options Read more
I’m going through the forum, which I would love to have more time for, and I found this thread stated by DJContagious. It explains how to take a YouTube Video and make it into a video ringtone. How sweet is that! Great job DJContagious!
The update to version 1.4.1 of Neverball change the name of the application to NeverballME. BigBoss also mentioned that, “The main changes here are to update the data files used to allow for NeverPutt.” It does feel like the app plays a little smoother as well. You can get NeverballME though the BigBoss source.
MCallShow is an application that allows you to search for information based on a phone number. When you open the application, you will get a screen saying that you have a 15 day trial before you will need to purchase the app. However, when I went to the applications website to see how much it would cost to purchase the app it says $0.00. So, I’m not sure what the deal is with that! You can just select Cancel to be brought to the the main screen where you will see the options; Local Country (which will automatically be filled in for you), a search bar, City, Region, Others, Country and Contact. You are then able to enter a phone number into the Search bar and it will display the City, Region, Others, Country and Contact for the phone number.
However, this application does not work for me…well, maybe it does and I just don’t know it! When I enter a phone number and select search, Read more
The update to version 1.2.1 of Neverball makes a few changes to the Settings option. In the Settings there is still a Calibrate option however, it has changed slightly. You can now select one of two icons that will adjust how much your iPhone will be tilted when you play the game. Once you have chosen one of the two icons, you can then calibrate your iPhone. Just tilt your iPhone until the yellow boxes, on both the side and bottom of the screen, are in the middle of the red line then select Calibrate Centre. It will say that it has saved your Calibration. You also have the ability to choose between three sensitivities; Low, Medium and High. I found that the Setting with Read more
The update to version 1.09 of IntelliScreen fixes a few bugs and adds one new feature. The update to version 1.09b of IntelliScreen fixes a bug that made the app crash if it was the first time it was being installed. The new feature on version 1.09 is the ability to add a Location Label to weather locations. The only way to see utilize this new feature is if you delete your Weather locations and re-add them. Because there is no way to edit previously added locations. However, when you add a new location, you will notice a Location Label option. When you add a Location Label, Read more
3DZapman is basically a 3D version of PacMan. When you open the application, you will get a splash screen and then the info screen. The info screen will give you your device ID and a place to enter your unlock code if you decide to purchase the full app. The full version of the application is $6.99 USD. However, you can play a demo of the app by selecting the Demo option in the lower right corner. The demo version is restricted to one level and has a time limit.
Once you have select Demo, you will then get a screen with the options; Start Game, Options and Credits. In the Options you have the ability to turn on/off the background and music. You can also adjust the volume of the sound affects. To get back to the main menu, select Back. When you select Start Game, you will be brought to the main play screen.
The update to version 1.19 of bitSMS makes a few updates to the application. It adds Danish and Spanish to the list of compatible languages. It is also said to improve the performance when rendering screens and scrolling. You are also able to switch between biteSMS and the stock SMS application. However, I could not get this feature to work! Let me know in the comments if it worked for you. You can get biteSMS through the Ste Packaging source.
ZodTTD has ported Quake 1 to the iPhone/iPod Touch…giving us quake4iphone. ZodTTD is also responsible for bringing us psx4iphone and snes4iphone. The application is not available yet, it is still in early development but below is a demo video and what the developer has to say about quake4iphone;
The update to version 3.5 of Tetris! and PenguinPanic make the same changes to both applications. On the main intro screen, the Start and Donate button are now larger and have a nicer design. Also, once you have won (or lost) a game, you are now able to submit your score to an online High Scores database. I personally am a big fan of High Scores!! If you choose to submit your score it will open a web browser with the High Score list. The list automatically displays the top 25 scores but, you can continue to load 25 more. You can also sort the High Scores by Day, Week or Month. Both Tetris! and PenguinPanic are available through the BigBoss source. Below are the screenshots.
There is a new SummerBoard theme available in the Installer. The theme itself isn’t actually new, it came out a few days ago but I never had a chance to write about it. The theme is based off the iPhone 3G and includes quite a few icons (these are the times when I wish my iPhone 3G was jailbroken!). You can get the iPhone 3G Themes from the iSpazio source.
The update to Neverball 1.1 adds a very important new feature to the main menu; Settings. In the settings you can set the calibration of the app. This allows you to choose if you would like that application controls to be tipped forward or back and anywhere in between. All you do is tip your iPhone and when you have it where you want it, select Calibrate Center. This will change the angle at which the game is played. Then select back and go into the application. this makes the application sooooo much easier to play. I actually really enjoy this game now! The only other change I noticed was that when you are in a level, the goal doesn’t light up until you have collected enough coins. I think in the previous version it was lite up all the time. You can get Neverball through the BigBoss source.
Note: I couldn’t get screenshots of the new feature because you can not take screenshots of this application.
The update to version 1.6.5 of AppleTap changes the lower menu bar. Instead of including; Features, Apple, Search and Mac vs PC…it now includes Featured, Apple and More. In the more options, you will find; Mac vs PC, Search, and the Timeline. There have not been any changes to the functionality of the options, they have just been moved. In the Apple option, the classic section has been removed and only contains current products. There were also a few commercials added to the Mac vs PC section, a few more products added to the Timeline and the apps files have been cleaned up. The only issue I am having with this application is Read more
The update to version 2.0 of Poddle adds quite a few new features! When you open the application, you will get a pop-up explaining how to play the game. The appearance of the main screen has not changed a ton however, there are a few new features. You will notice that there are two green pegs in with yellow and blue pegs. The green pegs will explode when your ball hits them and they are worth more points. Another change I noticed is that your high score is displayed on the top right of the screen and your score for the current game is still displayed on the top left of the screen. The New button in the upper right corner now works as well and will start a new game when selected. The Menu option has also been updated. You are now able to choose from five options; How To?, Themes, Credits, Donate and Close. In the themes option, Read more
