Installer Apps in App Store

AppStore After spending some time in the App Store and getting a feel for it, I realized that there are not a huge amount of applications avilable in the App Store…a lot of them are even in multiple categories. What I also noticed is that there were quite a few Installer applications in the App Store (or apps very similar). Below is a list of the applications that I saw in the App Store that are also available in the Installer. I also included how much the app costs via the App Store. Let me know if you notice any others that I may have missed.

Alarm (a self-defense/emergency alarm with a freefall detector) – Free
Band (collection of virtual instruments) – $9.99
Crosswords (puts crossword puzzles on your iPhone) – $9.99
Drummer (drum emulator) – $4.99
Dactyl (defuse the bombs before they blow up) – $0.99
Funambol (over-the-air backup and synchronization of iPhone contacts) – Free
iFob (social networking app that informs you when you are near other iPhone users) – Free
Karajan (a music and ear trainer for the iPhone) – $14.99

vWallpaper 0.93 & SkrewCommon 1.49

The update to SkrewCommon and vWallpaper gives vWallpaper some nice new features. When you select Video Ringtones you will notice that the Select Video option has been changed to Select Global Video and that there is a new Manage Contacts feature. The Select Global Video option still allows you to choose one video ringtone for all incoming calls. A cool new feature is the Manage Contacts feature which allows you to select video ringtones for specific contacts! When you select Manage Contacts, you will get a list of your contacts. You can then choose a contact and it will bring up the list of videos you have downloaded. Just select the video you would like as that contact’s ringtone. You will then be brought back to the contact list. The contact’s with video ringtones assigned to them will have a delete icon next to them. To delete a video ringtone, tap the icon and then select Delete. It will only delete the video ringtone and not the actual contact. [Read more…]

Fix IntelliScreen + Kate

Ever since I updated IntelliScreen to 1.07 and 1.08, Kate has not shown up in my Settings. It took me a while to figure what was causing the issue with Kate, I finally realized it was IntelliScreen. I personally am a huge fan of both Kate and InteliiScreen so, I was bummed that they were conflicting. However, thanks to a comment from JW, I found out that I could do some editing of my com.apple.SpringBoard.pist file and fix the problem! Well, I finally had a change to test it out and it worked great!! Here is what you need to do if you are having the same problem.

1. You will need to be able to SSH into your iPhone.

2. Find the com.apple.SpringBoard.plist file on your iPhone. It is located in the System/Library/LaunchDaemons folder.

IntelliScreen 1.08

The update to version 1.08 of IntelliScreen makes a few bugs changes (see list below). I am a huge fan of this application but, since they added IntelliDial…it has been driving me crazy! I normally press the Home Button to turn on my lock screen however, when I do, it now opens IntelliDial. Not only does IntelliDial take a few seconds to open, I then have to hit my Home Button again to get back to my lock screen so that I can slide to unlock. I wish there was a different way to get to IntelliDial or that it didn’t activate until your lock screen was awake. IntelliScreen is available through the Intelliborn source.

Bug Fixes for version 1.08:
    •Detail Info on SMS Privacy and International Weather in Settings
    •Mail and SMS overlaps when only if new when using first location
    •Bottom of IntelliScreen too short
