Sketches Coming to App Store

SketchesArs Technica got an interview with the developers of Sketches at WWDC. Sketches is getting totally revamped and has some great new features. I love the thumbnails of all the sketches you’ve made being held up by little thumbtacks. Another great idea and feature is using a map as a background to draw on. It drops a pin of your current location in the center of the map and then you can draw on it. Think if you want to tell somewhere to meet; you can just take a pic and send it quick, even add notes and arrows. You can still draw on a existing photos or take a new one. You can even use a webpage’s screenshot! [Read more…]

OmniFocus Coming Soon

OmniFocus OmniFocus is a task management program that is scalable from entire projects to simple shopping lists. Many Mac users already know what Omnifocus is but if you want to learn more details about the desktop version and their services check out their website. I’ve had this great idea for an iPhone app but it looks like they beat me to it. Although my version requires running in the background. Basically it notifies you of tasks based on your geo location. Now since Apple won’t allow it to track you and can’t run in the background I assume you will have to open the app to check if there is something you need to do near a specific location. Periodic Table 1.1

Periodic Table Version 1.1 of Periodic Table makes just a few small changes. The first thing you will notice when you open the application is that the background color on the tabs in the lower menu bar has been changed to light blue. Another new feature is a color key when in the Table view. If you scroll down you are able to see what each color on the Table stands for such as; Non-Metal, Alkali Metal, Halogen….etc. When in sort mode, [Read more…]

Sketches 0.7b5

Sketches The update to version 0.7b5 of Sketches does not add any new features or make any huge visual changes to the application. However, it does fix a bug and make some improvements to the app. Some small visual changes include the Camera and Photo icons are slightly different and they also now have the indented button background. The main icon has also been updated…it is much cleaner around the edges. The bug fix has to do with Sketches not correctly remembering the last drawing when you close the application. There were also Twitter improvements which include, [Read more…]

JGoogle 1.1

JGoogle JGoogle is a full screen Safari browser developed by Jake Wolpert. When you start the application, you are able to type a web address. YOU MUST INCLUDE “HTTP://”. The web site that you entered will open without the safari top and bottom buttons. Basically, it is just a clean website. The downside is that you can only open one webpage at a time. The other downside is that you cannot view the webpage in landscape view. Overall, I prefer just using Safari. I do not see any point of removing the top and bottom bar while losing all the features that make Safari great. You can get JGoogle from the BigBoss source. Check out the screen shots below.

StreetFlow 0.9 – Update

StreetFlow I was looking at StreetFlow today and realized that there are a few features I didn’t notice when I did my first review of version 0.9. One of the features includes default images for some restaurants, if there has not already been an image submitted by a user. There are even different default images based on the type of restaurant. Also, when you tap on a comment, there is the option to add that person to your Friends List. Until I saw this feature I was always confused on how I added people to my Friends List, now I know! I’m not sure how I missed these features…I’m guessing the application didn’t update properly and when I restored my iPhone yesterday and installed it from scratch, they showed up. Either way, still one of my absolute favorite apps. StreetFlow is available through the AppTapp source.

CalcPaper 1.1

CalcPaper The update to CalcPaper does not make any visual changes to the application however, it does add a new iPhone Theme to the Theme options. Version 1.1 of CalcPaper also makes it compatible with the iPod Touch!! CalcPaper is available through the iSpazio Source.

Sketches 0.7b4

sketches The update to Sketches is slightly surprising. Though, I have a theory on why this is! The update to version 0.7b4 of Sketches actually removes a few options from the application instead of adding them. However, lets start from the beginning. The first change you will see is that Sketches has a new icon…which is the reason I looked for five minutes before Doug finally found the app on my SpringBoard. When you open the application, you will notice that the theme has changed. Instead of the clear or red themes from the previous version you will now be greeted with a brown theme…reminds me of Starbucks! On the main screen, none of the options have changed. You can still email your creation, send it to Twitter, export it to your Photo Album, change the colors, add shapes, take a picture, import an image and so on.

The changes come in the Setup Menu. You no longer have the option to [Read more…]

StreetFlow 0.9

StreetFlow The update to version 0.9 of StreetFlow does not make any visual changes to the app (at least from what I can tell!) It does however change the app from the iApp-a-Day source to the AppTapp Official source and makes it a Featured Application in the Installer. Which I was happy to see. Since the day it was released, this remains as one of my favorite iPhone applications!

NemusSync 0.5.3 – Google Calendar & iPhone Sync Wirelessly

NemusSync I have been waiting for an app like this for quite a while. Synchronization between the iPhone Calendar & Google Calendar. It even supports multiple calendars. The first time syncing took a while but I do have a lot of calendars and events. I got a lot of doubled up events because I had the same things on both the iPhone and the Google Calendar. I’m going to clear some out now that it syncs! Once you sync the first time it’s much quicker to sync. You can also see all the calendars shared to you and choose which one’s will show up on the iPhone. [Read more…]

JCalc 1.0

JCalc JCalc is an extended calculator application. When you open the app, you will get a splashscreen of a Dalmatian (yes, the dog…it’s totally random). From here you will see a Calculator. When you enter a function into the calculator, it will display it on the screen above the calculator. However, once the function scroll off the screen you can not see them anymore. It would be great if you could scroll the display screen. You can see the rest of the calculator options by [Read more…]

CalcPaper 1.0

CalcPaperCalcPaper is a calculator application that keeps track of your calculations on a “note” next to the calculator. When you open the app, you will get a splashscreen where you will have to wait 10 second for the app to open (you only have to wait 10 seconds with unregistered versions of the application). Once CalcPaper has opened, there will be calculator on the right and a note on the left. When functions are typed into the calculator, they are also displayed on the paper. As you continue to enter functions, they will scroll off the screen. To scroll up to previous functions, just scroll your finger up/down on the note. If you would like to add a few blank lines before you enter the next function, just tap the icon that looks like a sheet of paper and an arrow. There is also a Settings button in the upper right corner. In the Settings, [Read more…]

TypeIt4Me 0.6.0

TypeIt4MeTypeIt4Me is a Mac program that was ported over to the iPhone/iPod Touch. The whole point of this application is to make your life easier when typing e-mails by using abbreviations. When you open TypeIt4Me, there will be a blank box were you can type freely, and then at the bottom you have options like “add” and “edit”. If you type in “brb” into the blank box, “be right back” will appear. This application has many of the common acronyms already built in, but you can add and edit them if you want to. The coolest feature of this application is [Read more…]

ShopList 0.34

ShopList Honestly guys, I do not see anything new in version 0.34 of ShopList. The app functions the same and there are no new options. So, it must just be coding stuff! Let me know if you guys notice anything. I still like this app for making lists! Shoplist is available through the Trivialware source.
