Reset Safari for SBSettings is an SBSetting toggle that allows you to quickly clear Safari’s cache, history and remove all tabs. Once the app is installed, you will need to go into SBSettings and then the More option and turn the toggle on. Once it has been set as one of your toggles, it’s pretty simple to use… just tap the ResetSafari toggle and it clears everything. It does not actually toggle on or off… you just tap it and it instantly deletes everything. If you use the toggle while Safari is open, it will close the app in-order to reset it.

When I tested the app… it worked just as I expected. All my Safari history and tabs had been removed and my cache cleared. I didn’t catch any glitches with the app… let me know in the comments if you did. You can get Reset Safari for SBSettings via the BigBoss source.

I think I may actual prefer it to the Smoog SBSettings theme. Anyway, what I then realized is that Tenuis Matte is actually a theme that comes with SBSettings (who knew!)… here I am installing themes when the best one comes with the app! So, if you are looking for a nice SBSettings theme, you may want to check out Tenuis Matte… if you haven’t already! Screenshots below.

One of the best hacks for the iPhone, SBSettings, now works with firmware 4.0. This hack let’s you swipe the status bar and a drop down menu pops out with all kinds of quick settings like brightness adjustment and toggles for wifi, bluetooth and 3G. There are different themes, all kinds of info like running processes, IP address, & memory. Best of all, it’s free. This is a must have app!

See our past reviews of SBSettings for more detailed descriptions.

Note: there is a small bug for 4.0.

ATTENTION 4.0 USERS: Currently an activator bug prevents the SBSettings window from appearing in some apps. For the time being, load settings, activator, and set SBSettings also to short hold home so you can hold home button to also bring up sbsettings in apps.

Description

Welcome to convenience! Move your important toggles directly into Springboard where they are always available instantly even while other apps are running.

Note: This does not come with an icon. You can swipe the statusbar to bring down the main window. You can configure in activator settings other methods of opening the SBSettings window. Customize it to your liking!

Known 4.0 Issues
- Activator issue with swiping statusbar. Configure an alternate method to launch app in apps in settings app.
- Phone toggle not working well. Looking into it.
- The rest is working well.

Changelog

3.1.0

- Fix: 3.1.0-1 solves theoretical crash of more app that no one reported, but could in some cases.
- Fix: Fixed the iOS4 3g crashing in hidden icons, dock, and folders.
- Fix: Re-added iOS4 rotation sensing (found another way to do it!). Window rotates again.
- Fix: Redid the more-app GUI to use a standardized apple style interface.
- New: Added global activator launch settings for SBSettings window to more app. You can also get to these in settings app.

Yesterday, SBSettings was updated to version 3.0.9-11 and released in BigBoss’s main source. Below is a full change log for the update but, a few of the major changes include rotation, better iPad integration and a few new options.

I was pretty stoked when I heard about the new rotation feature however, it was mostly created for iPad users. When your iPhone or iPod touch is in landscape mode and you swipe to launch SBSetting, it hangs off all weird. You are still able to use the toggles however, you are unable to get to the other options such as More, Refresh, Dock, Respring and Power. BigBoss has said that he does not plan to fix this issue due to the fact that it was basically created for iPad users. However, it can be disabled.

A few of the other new options (in the More/Extras & Options) include the ability to Disable the Landscape launch of SBSettings, the ability to center the window and the ability to turn on/off the animation. Overall, the update is mostly to better integrate of SBSettings into the iPad but, you will probably still want to update from your current version.

You can get SBSettings via the BigBoss source.

Version 3.0.9 Change Log:
    • Added rotation. Will rotate the window if using a rotated app or springboard (iphone and ipad). Will not rotate once the window is present. Window will be bigger than screen when rotated on an iphone. I am not fixing that, the buttons are accessible and it still seems useful to allow rotation in this case. If you don’t like rotation then you can disable rotation in the more app.
    • Fixed crash on ipad and 4.0 using dock button (icons caused it)
    • Toggle pack fixed crash on processes toggle on ipad / 4.0
    • Fixed ipad problem after reboot. (Note: other extensions may also cause this, but its fixed in sbsettings)
    • Fixed respring to use Sauriks uicache so that ipad and 4.0 icons appear after a respring.
    • Centering SBSettings Window (mainly ipad concern)
    • Added options to more app to enable / disable rotation and center window.
    • iPad only: added switch in more app to enable IP Address on statusbar. IP Address updates are not instant to save battery. – Added switch in more app to disable animating window (by request) so window just pops out if you use this.

Note: there are iPad 3g issues in some of the toggles. Sorry, but my iPad 3g is not yet arrived so I cannot fix these until it does. These things include data toggle not working (use phone toggle for now). Statusbar IP address always seems to take the data IP. Again will have to sort this out when I get an iPad 3g.

As I mentioned yesterday, the SBRotator mod (a hack that allows your iPhone to rotate in all 4 possible orientations) now has an SBSettings toggle. The toggle is free if you have already purchased the SBRotator mod. I honestly have been trying since yesterday to get the toggle to install and was finally able to get it today. So, here we go.

The SBSettings toggle allows the ability to turn off/on the actual SBRotator mod. This is a quick and easy way to enable/disable the rotating. When I installed and tested the toggle… it worked perfectly (I did have to respring after launching SBSettings, going into the More option, going into the Set Toggles option and turning on the SBRotator toggle… but, that is normal). When the SBRotator toggle is green, you can rotate your device and everything will rotate. When the toggle is red, it does not rotate.

The toggle does allow you to turn off the statusbar icon for SBRotator (thus giving you more statusbar space) as long as you do not want to use the statusbar icon to lock your rotation in landscape. Even if you turn your device into landscape mode and then turn the toggle off (thus turning off the mod) it rotates it back to vertical mode and then turns off the mod. So, if you want to lock your rotation in landscape mode, you will need to keep the statusbar icon.

You can get the SBRotator SBSettings Toggle via the BigBoss source.

The steps below are still in the testing phase but, if they work, he will be integrating it into the Edge toggle in SBSettings.

Disabling EDGE on iPhone v3.0 has been very hard. It’s still not certain, but after some testing and user reported success (a big thank you to Jorge Rendon!). The main reason the EDGE toggle in SBSettings and BossPrefs hasnt been updated is because I have not known what it takes exactly to disable EDGE on 3.0. The problem is that the OS reenables it. If you “mess up” your APN, the OS goes crazy trying to enable it draining your battery in about 90 minutes from full charge. So that’s not the way either. These steps do seem to work, however. Give them a try. If the reports are mostly positive, I will integrate this into the EDGE toggle.

1) Open settings app and disable Notifications. These appear directly under carrier, if you have them. They only appear if you have installed an appstore app that requires push. If you don’t have these, skip this step.

2) Disable push mail fetch.

3) Disable EDGE using SBSettings

4) Load settings app, enable airplane mode. Wait at least 10 seconds.

5) Load settings app and disable airplane mode. Wait for you to get service again.

6) Load SBSettings. You should have no Data IP (IP N/A).

7) Try using safari on Data. It should fail. Wait a bit, Load SBSettings your data IP should remain N/A.

Feel free to test this. If you get a Data IP address, you have indication that your Data may be getting reenabled. I am interested in the results of this.

Most likely a reboot
of iPhone will retain the state.
