AT&T Will Allow SlingPlayer on 3G… Finally (iPad Too?)

Available In: App Store       Price: $29.99

AT&TAT&T will now allow SlingPlayer to stream video to the iPhone over their 3G network. It’s not just a quick decision either. AT&T and Sling Media have worked together to make the app conserve bandwith when connected to 3G:

Collaboration with developers like Sling Media ensures that all apps are optimized for our 3G network to conserve wireless spectrum and reduce the risk that an app will cause such extreme levels of congestion that they disrupt the experience of other wireless customers.

Even more good news is AT&T will begin to work with developers starting by the end of the first quarter to optimize their videos and applications for the wireless network on their developer website: http://developer.att.com/

This is all great news for the iPad. Sling Media could create an awesome interface with the larger screen of the iPad and AT&T will allow the app to run on their network.
