A couple updates to the plugin for LockInfo that displays Twitter on your lockscreen have come out recently. Last night the update added the users avatar and it looked great! Unfortunately it was making the hack pretty glitchy when I would scroll up and down so I had to hide it. I emailed the developer, David Ashman, and he told me he’d get an update out soon to fix it and he sure did! This morning there is another update that fixed the glitching. Now it scrolls nice and smooth and I can see the avatars of my tweeps. Thanks David!
This plugin is available through the developer’s beta source in cydia: http://david.ashman.com/beta

SpringLocker is a hack that allows you to turn off the ability to move the icons on your SpringBoard.
Once the app is installed, it is added in the stock Settings application. The only option the app has is the ability to turn the Lock Icons option on or off. If you turn the Lock Icons option On… it will turn off the ability to rearrange the icons on your SpringBoard.
When you turn ON Lock Icons, your icons will no longer go into “wiggle mode.” If you tap and hold an icon on your SpringBoard, it will not start to wiggle and will not be able to be moved instead the application will launch as if you tapped on it and did not tap and hold it.

Volume Buttons Disable is a hack that does exactly what the title says… disables your volume buttons. As soon as you install the hack, and your device resprings, the volume buttons on the side of your device will no longer work. I’m not exactly sure why you would want this but… there’s a hack for that!
If for some reason you do install this hack, you can always adjust your volume using the SBSettings Volume Slider Widget which allows you to quickly adjust your volume via a slider in SBSettings.

Slide to Unlock Killer is a mod that removes the text from the slider bars on your iPhone or iPod touch. It removed both the “slide to unlock” and the “slide to power off” text. The actual slider bar remains, just the text is removed. This is nice for lock screen mods that change the slider bar.
The mod can be activated/deactivated via WinterBoard. Also, the title of the mod in WinterBoard is EntriegelKiller. You can get Slide to Unlock Killer via the Touch-Mania source.

Rename II is an application that allows you to easily change the name of Stock, Jailbroke and App Store applications.
Rename II is very simple to use. The application gives you three options; /Applications, Appstore Apps and About. The /Applications option lists apps that are in your /Applications folder. This will include both stock and jailbroke applications. The Appstore apps option is where you will find a list of all the App Store applications that are on your iPhone or iPod touch. Read more

SMS Helper, a mod that counts the number of characters as you type a text messages, was recently updated to version 0.3, 0.3-1 and 0.3-2. The major update was 0.3 which adds a text counter and setting options.
The text counter is a new feature that counts the number of text message you have sent. The counter is based on the “standard” text length of 160 characters. Since the iPhone can send messages longer that 160 characters, the app will count any text over 160 characters as two text messages (or three, or four…). To view the text counter, just tap on the header in the stock Messages application. The counter can be manually reset from there as well. SMS and MMS are counted separately. Read more

MultiIconMover is a mod that allows you to move more than one icon at a time (without using a computer). The application is pretty straight forward.
Once installed, you can to go into the normal “wiggle” move mode. Once in wiggle mode, just tap on the icons you would like to move. When you tap on an icon a check mark will appear on it (you can tap the icon again to remove the check mark). You can then scroll to the page on your SpringBoard in which you would like to move the icons and tap the Home Button. This will move the selected icons to that page on your SpringBoard. Just tap the Home Button again to spot wiggle mode. Read more

SMS Helper, an mod that counts the number of characters as you type a text messages, was update to version 0.2. The update does make some changes to the mod.
The counter has been slightly redesigned and implemented a little differently. The counter is still located on the Send button however, the numbers seem to be bigger, brighter and clearer and it now displays how many characters are left until you reach 160 and how many times you have gone past 160 (example 47/2 = 47 characters until you have reached 160 characters twice which would send in two text messages). SMS Helper is a very cool application that counts the number of characters as you type a text messages. When installed, it adds a counter into the stock Messages application. The character count is displayed on the Send button in the lower right corner as you type the message… it is a very clean implementation of the mod.
This mod is cool for a couple of reasons. The first is that most devices (carriers) allow a text message of 160 characters before the message is split into two texts. Another reason this is a helpful mod is that if you twitter from your text messages, you normally have to guess when you have hit the 140 character limit well… not anymore! Read more

Action Menu, a mod that adds additional options to the stock Cut, Copy and Paste functionality, has received another update. As with the previous update a few days ago, this update to version 1.0.2 also adds a few new features as well as fixes a few bugs (see change log below). One cool new feature is that ability to rearrange the favorites into the order you prefer (I was wondering when this would be implemented) as well as the ability to add multi-line favorites. See screenshots below. Action Menu is available via the BigBoss source. Read more

SpotSMS, s a mod allows the stock Spotlight Search to search within your SMS (and MMS) messages, received an update to version 0.2. The update changes the search results so that they display the contact’s name instead of just the phone number from which the text was received/sent. However, I noticed that even though most of results now display the Contact’s name, some still display the phone number. There doesn’t seem to be any specific reason that some display the name and others do not… let me know in the comments if you are experiencing the same thing. Read more
