There are a few kewl features that could be used from this theme but it’s not set up completely to work with my iPhone 4 or the new OS. First, the icons are not made for the retina display. There are also a few icons that are either spelled in a different language or missing so they won’t show up correctly until I go in and rename them using iFile or just not show up at all. There are a lot of icons in this set, over 250! It also comes with some windows sounds effects, the blue spinning circle and other UI images like buttons & search boxes.
So, if for some reason you’re a Windows lover but have an iPhone, check out this theme and be ready to tweak it a bit to work on newer devices and firmware.
Brilho is a WinterBoard theme that contains 34 icons (some of which are alternative icons), a wallpaper, a lock screen background, folders mod and an icon template (a .psd file). The mod for the folders is pretty cool and overall the theme is decently well designed. Check out the screenshots below. You can get Brilho via the BigBoss source. Read more
MiDarkTheme is a dark theme (obviously) that contains 36 icons, a dock, status bar, lockscreen background, wallpaper, SMS mod, Safari mod, Phone mod, pop-up mod, Calculator mod, badges, page dots… etc. Overall it is a decently designed theme. There are a few things that could be a little cleaner… like the Safari loading mod but overall it’s not too bad. You can get MiDarkTheme via the modmyi source.
Note: There is no Stocks icon for this theme. Read more
The SMS icon is labeled incorrectly so the themed icon does not display when you active the theme in WinterBoard. To change this, you can ssh into (or use iFile on your device) the /library/Themes/MatteFusionGZ/Icons folder and rename Text.png to Messages.png. It will then display the themed SMS icon.
If you are into the modding scene, the theme does contain a few extra wallpapers as well as an 36 additional icons in a folder titled “more icons.” To take it even further, it also contains a .psd file for the icons.
Also, if you are looking for a lock screen battery that matches the little better than the stock battery… check out Matte Battery 2.0.
Acier is a unique WinterBoard theme (based on the concept of an iNav theme… you know, the original theme from back-in-the-day that started all these sweet themes). Below is a list of what you will need to install in order to use the theme correctly and instructions on how to set-up the theme. Check it out.
iAwesome is a WinterBoard theme that contains 304 redesigned icons (though all icons are modded… more to come on that), wallpaper, status bar, lock screen wallpaper, lock screen battery, badges, pop-ups and quite a few UI mods. The nice thing about this theme is that it contains an icon overlay which means that all icons are modded… not just icons that have been designed for the theme. If you go into the App Store, you will see that even the icons in the AppStore are modded with the overlay.
Matte Battery is a lock screen battery mod that changes the battery displayed while charging your iPhone or iPod touch from glossy to matte. The colors are still the same as the stock lock screen battery… green and red. I have seen this lock screen battery used in a few themes however, this gives you the ability to use the battery with any theme. I am currently using it with the Smoog theme.
High Tech is a WinterBoard theme that is available in four colors; USSR (red), Rave-Up (blue), Clover (green) and Negative Cells (orange). All four themes contain the same mods (just in the different colors); 72 icons, 5 wallpapers, dock, loading screens, lock screen battery, badges, weather app mod, phone app mod and quite a few other UI mods.
The themes also contain UI sounds. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of UI sounds. If you are like me and would rather not have them, you can ssh (or use the iFile app right on your device) and locate the Library/Themes/the name of the theme you are using (ex. High Tech USSR.theme) and delete the UISounds folder. If you don’t want to delete the folder, you can just rename it to something else.
Bliss is a WinterBoard theme that contains 100 icons, wallpaper, sliders, badges, dock, lock screen battery and a few other UI mods. The thing I like about this theme is it’s subtleness. The icons are simple, clean and easy to look at. The other UI mods are subtle but enough of a change to feel like your device has been modded. Read more
RoughDraft is a WinterBoard theme that contains 34 icons, lock background, wallpaper, dock and badges. The few icons that it does contain are well designed. The only issue with the theme is that the badge does not display. It does contain a file for the badge however, in order for it to display correctly, you will need to do some ssh work.
No offence to the designer on this one but this is not for me. This is a full leather theme. not just a lockscreen and springboard with icons. If you are looking for leather, this is the one. There are 4 colors to choose from, each it’s own install. I like the black the best. Each color is $1.49.
Wrong, so so wrong… woocash-kun on deviantart.com has posted a theme for the iPhone that looks just like the new Windows Phone 7 software. This isn’t just for the home screen but it also includes the lockscreen and loading screens. It’s not available yet for download and of course it’s not for everyone. But if you really want your iPhone to look like Window Phone 7, this looks like the real thing.
According to comments from the author on the deviantart page, he may not release the theme until he’s done with it:
This theme is pretty sweet looking but these types of themes are always a pain to try and get setup correctly so here is a video that guides you through it.
The official forum thread can be found at macthemes.net and new icons and wallpaper at the teknologik posterous site here: teknologik.posterous.com. Here’s what it looks like along with some users variations found at macthemes.net:
A i r o, by Pur3x, contains 61 icons (some of which are alternative icons), wallpaper, dock, lockscreen wallpaper, lockscreen battery, badges and quite a few UI mods. Overall, the theme is nicely designed and the UI mods are subtle and clean. I did notice that the “Slide to Unlock” text looks a little funky… it is moved over to the right but still slightly visible. You can fix this by using either the Slide to Unlock Killer or the No “Slide to Unlock” Text hacks. For more info about the theme, check it out on deviantART. You can get the A i r o theme via the modmyi source.
