Cydia was updated to version 1.0.3030-62. The update does add one cool new feature. There are now little green check marks next to the titled of apps you have installed on your iPhone or iPod touch. This is nice because when you search for something specific, you can see what you already have installed without opening the package info. Let me know in the comments if you notice anything else with the update.

Finally!!! The update has been released to the Facebook app for the iPhone. If you can’t get it to show up in the updates, just uninstall it by holding your finger on the icon until it wiggles and then tap x. Just reinstall now via iTunes on your iPhone. Here are some great new features:

Keep your eyes on the update tab in the App Store! Facebook will be releasing an update to their iPhone app very soon! I have to admit I’m pretty excited about this. Right now, the app is very clunky not to mention the major bug of messages from groups in your inbox don’t show up. There’s lots to be excited about though. Here’s a list of upcoming features straight from the developer’s Facebook account:

Facebook for iPhone 3.0 is coming very soon. I can’t predict an exact date when I will submit to Apple, but I can say that I am about 98% done. So what’s new in this update?

Cydia has been updated to version 1.0.2948-58. I know a few of you were having issues with Cydia crashing a lot…hopefully this update fixes that! The update does seem to make Cydia run a little smoother. I was hoping it would fix the issues in which no letters are displayed when you search but, it doesn’t seem to. Let me know in the comments if you notice anything.

To update Cydia, all you need to do is open the Cydia application and you will be prompted that there is an essential update. You can then choose to update it.

There’s also a link to see a seller’s other items. This is nice when you find something you’re looking for and want to see what else the seller might have. You could not do this before. Another of my favorite features of this update is the ability to see search results for more than 100 items. Usually you would search and 25 items would appear in the list with a link to load 25 more. After 100 loaded it would stop searching. Now it goes on and on!

Along with this big features there are other minor things like a link to the eBay support page and support for the new 3.0 firmware.

The Reflective Dock mod is a mod that allows the icons on your dock to have reflections. Well, it seems that Mr. David Ashman has updated the mod adding all sorts of new settings.

Once installed, you can now go into your stock Settings application and you will see a Reflective Dock option. Here you are able to Enable/Disable the application (no more need for WinterBoard), turn on/off the Reflect All Icons option, turn on/off the Use Gradient options and adjust the Opacity, Reflection Gap, Reflection Length Factor and the Horizontal Shift.

I’m going to briefly describe what each option does. The Reflect All Icons option, when turned on, will reflect all icons on your SpringBoard and not just the icons in your dock.

The Use Gradient Option, when turned on, will add a gradient (fading out of the reflection) to the reflection. If you turn off the Gradient Option, you will just have a solid reflection.

The Opacity adjustments will change how transparent the reflections are. The larger the number, the less transparent the reflections will be.

The Reflection Gap adjustments change the amount of space between the icon and the reflections. The larger the number, the larger the space between the icon and the reflection.

The Reflection Length Factor adjustments will change how long the reflection is. The larger the number, the longer the reflection will be.

And, I’m not sure what the Horizontal Shift does. I don’t notice any changes when I adjust the number! Let me know in the comments if this option works for you and what it does!

Overall, a nice update. I like the new features and the new customization ability. I also like that WinterBoard is no longer needed in order to use the mod. However, I did notice that any time I enable or disable the mod itself or the Reflect All Icons feature…I have to respring my iPhone for the change to take place. Not sure if this is just me or if it is a bug with the mod. A few features I would like to see are a way to disable the dock icon reflections but leave the All Icons feature enabled and a reset button that would reset all the options back to stock….that way if you do a little tweaking, you can easily go back to the stock settings. But, other than that…very nice!

Yesterday, there was an update to Rotation Inhibitor (a SBSetting toggle that allows you to turn off the auto-rotate feature). I was impressed with how quickly the app was updated and I personally love the what the update does! With the previous version of Rotation Inhibitor, you used to have to toggle the feature within each application that you didn’t want to auto-rotate. With the update, you can turn off the Rotation Inhibitor while on your SpringBoard (or while in any application) and it will turn off the auto-rotate for all applications! Very nice!

I did find that when I updated the app, it removed my WinterBoard mods. However, the developer says that you can respring your iPhone or iPod Touch and they will all come back. I just went into WinterBoard and unchecked and rechecked my theme and everything came back with no problem. Let me know in the comments if you like the update and if the app is working correctly for you.

Well I thought this was going to be big news. And, it’s a start… If you remember Customize you know what I’m talking about. But for those of you who don’t, here’s a little info. Customize lets you change all kinds of things on your iPhone or iPod Touch: sounds, system strings (like the Slide to Unlock text), icons, wallpaper, etc. There’s also a huge theme database within the app. It’s all very nice but tonight, it’s just not working for us. Very buggy, crashing our iPhones, not keeping changes, etc. We’ll keep testing it and watching for updates but I’d wait on this one for now.

Their site is also back up and running where you can upload your own themes from your computer that will show up in the list right on the app. Here’s a quote from the front page of their site:

In the last week or so there have been a few updates to WinterBoard. The updates do not make any changes to the user interface of the app but, they do add a few cool new options like per page wallpapers….meaning the ability to have a different wallpaper on each page of your SpringBoard. Below is a list of all the changes for each update. Though, I’m still waiting for that huge update that makes WinterBoard a little more user friendly and gives it a nice clean user interface!!

Note: If you would like to have a different wallpaper on each page of your SpringBoard, you will need to label the wallpapers inside your theme as … Page0.png (first page), Page1.png (second page), Page2.png (third page) and so on.

Purchasing an app was pretty easy. I just had to sign in with either Facebook Connect or your Google account. I also had to sign into my Amazon account for payment (paypal coming soon). Once both of those are set up it was really easy. Here’s some screenshots of the process:
