WeatherIcon Updates – Fixes Status Bar Icons

WeatherIcon There have been a few updates to the WeatherIcon mod in the last day or so. They have been just simple updates but, I was happy to see them. If you use the Status Bar icons feature of the mos, then you have probably noticed that the right side of your weather image was getting cut off. Well, the first update fixes that issue. However, you probably also notice that he right side of your other Status Bar notification icons (mail, SMS…etc) where also getting cut off. The second update fixes that issue. So, overall, the mod looks much nicer now! The only thing I am waiting for now is an update that fixes the battery drain problem! Doug and I both have been experiencing major battery drain since turning on the Status Bar mod.

WeatherIcon Update – Removes Theme Adds Status Bar Icons

WeatherIcon The WeatherIcon mod received a few updates overnight. The update to version 1.8.4 makes a few changes to the application that you will want to know about. The most obvious change is that it removes the icon theme from the package. So, when you update to version 1.8.4 you will no longer see a weather image just the actual weather in degrees. In order to have a weather images, you will need to install either the Katra WeatherIcon theme or the Klear WeatherIcon theme based on which weather images you prefer (see screenshots below). Both of these themes are available through the david.ashman.com source.

Reflective Dock Mod Updated to Support WeatherIcon Mod

Reflective Dock The ReflectiveDock mod, via the david.ashman.com source, was updated a few days ago allowing the reflective dock to correctly reflect the WeatherIcon mod. I finally had a chance to test it and it works great. If you are someone who likes to have your weather icon in your dock and you use the RefelectiveDock mod…then you are good to go. Now, all we need is an update so that it reflects the LiveClock mod! I would love to watch the little second hand go around in the reflection! :) [Read more…]

Smoog Theme – Background for WeatherIcon Mod

WinterBoard smoogweatherbackground2 It seems that quite a few themes have been getting updated lately to accommodate both the LiveClock and WeatherIcon mods. One theme that I have always been a fan of has received one of these updates! You are now able to install a weather icon for the Smoog theme (via BigBoss) that supports the WeatherIcon mod. The title of the package is Smoog Weather Icon Background and it is available via the david.ashman.com source. If you are also a fan of the LiveClock mod, you can choose the Live lock Dark option in WinterBoard and it looks decent with the theme as well. Though, I would love to see another update that adds an icon that is actually compatible with the LiveClock mod. [Read more…]

WeatherIcon 1.5.3 – Updating Weather Icon

WeatherIcon OK, I have held off on writing about this app for a few days because it was getting updated so frequently and I wanted to let a few updates pass before talking about it again. I will say, the updates have made using this application much easier than in the first few version of the app…you can check out that article HERE. So, lets talk about what the app looks like now.

I have good news for those of you would are not big on sshing into your iPhone or iPod Touch…you can now successfully use this application without the need to shh. The weather information is now pulled directly from the weather info already on your iPhone…so, no need for ssh. This also means that the temp on your weather icon will mach the temp displayed inside your stock Weather application…which is nice. [Read more…]

WeatherIcon – Updating Weather Icon (Updated…scroll down)

WeatherIcon I wrote a post this morning about a reflective dock application. I also warned in that post about another application title WeatherIcon (available through the same source). I received word today that the application had been upgraded and no longer creating crashing problems so, I decided to check it out.

Ok, I had this post written this afternoon but, I had to completely rewrite it tonight! We have done a lot of testing on this application and it does work however, it is going to take some explaining. So, take a deap breath and then continue reading!

When you install the WeatherIcon app in Cydia (be sure you install version 1.1.1 or newer), it adds an option to your WinterBoard titled Weather Icon. When you select the Weather Icon option in WinterBoard, it will activate the application. When the app is activated, it changes your stock weather icon to a blank weather icon and then puts the new temp and weather image on top of the blank weather icon. [Read more…]
