Its not a hoax! Heres are screenshot of mine. You can just use the 3G version of ultrasn0w to unlock. I normally use O2 but in the screenshot I have used ultrasn0w to unlock to show you.

Where is the Ghosbuster Stuff

Hey there big time iPhone user and Cydia fan. I hope there is a developer out there that is as crazy about Ghostbusters as I am.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone put together a Ghostbusters Complete theme. Here is a list of what I think will be awesome. I wish I could create this stuff but my mind is wrapped around to many projects, not to mention I have no idea how .

Sounds for theme
Unlock: Proton Pack Power Up sound
Lock: Proton Pack Power Down
Lockscreen: No Ghost Symbol with Proton stream on bottom slider.
Message: Various funny quotes "Get her Ray" "Stop That" "Someone blows their nose and you wanna keep it" "Listen do you smell something"
Icons for screen: No ghost symbol for background. Main Characters, Slimer and Various ghosts from movie for widgets.
Ghostbusters ring tone and whatever else you think would be cool.

A lot of people were successful doing it on top of their current jailbreak. I wasn't. It failed and I had to restore.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but the high school I attended was really strict when it came to the English language. Brooke, you keep referring to "jailbroke" iPhones. The way to say it is "jailbroken" iPhones. Sorry, no contempt intended, it just bugs me.

iPhone 3GS Unlocked with Purplera1n + UltraSn0w Good times! It looks like Dev Team's UltraSn0w unlock works with an iPhone 3GS that's been jailbroken via purplera1n. But be warned: Some users are reporting mixed success. On Friday, George Hotz (aka the guy who unlocked the original iPhone 2G) released his purplera1n iPhone 3GS jailbreak tool. On the Dev Team's decision to wait until iPhone OS version 3.1 is released, Hotz sniped: "Normally I don't make tools for the general public, and rather wait for the dev team to do it. But guys, whats up with waiting until 3.1? That isn't how the game is played. We release, Apple fixes, we find new holes. It isn't worth waiting because you might have the "last" hole in the iPhone. What last hole...this isn't golf. I'll find a new one next week." Meanwhile, Dev Team has posted a video with details of its upcoming iPhone 3GS unlock. And while many of us were off eating ribs or playing with fireworks, Geohot was busy releasing purplera1n RC2. Amongst a variety of fixes, including less flakiness in the payload, RC2 adds support for more versions of Windows (Vista, Windows 7, International, and 64-bit). Sorry Mac folks, Hotz says an OS X version is coming shortly. If you're frothing at the mouth to give Purplera1n a try, iPhone Hacks has a pretty good step-by-step guide. But note: We've not yet tested it ourselves. As with all beta software, try it at your own risk and, please, remember to back everything up first. I'd also recommend reading through the comments over at George Hotz's blog. Some users have reported random SIM lock-outs and Wi-Fi issues after installing UltraSn0w. Many others are reporting success: "Louis said...Excellent Jailbreak program! RC2 seems to work better than RC1. Make sure you restore your iPhone 3GS with the original firmware 3.0 from Apple, then run Purplrra1n RC2 from Windows. You must have a valid ATT SIM card to activate the phone, then run Freeze to install Cydia. After rebooting, update Cydia and install ULTRASN0W, then you are ready to use any SIM card you have. Enjoy a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3GS!" Have you tried it? Let us know how it went. Assuming you actually do see a need to jailbreak or unlock, will you wait for OS 3.1 and Dev Team's "official" jailbreak instead? [On The iPhone]

3GS -- ultrasn0w style! Do not upgrade to 3.1 yet if you want this unlock! Here’s a brief video demonstration by @planetbeing of the iPhone Dev Team’s ultrasn0w unlock for the new iPhone 3G S. Special thanks to @Oranav for the at+xlog crash — a gift to the community that has kept on giving! Our ultrasn0w program uses the at+xlog crash as an injection vector of our unlocking payload — and it does so on the 3GS in exactly the same way as on the 3G!  But this injection vector will be lost if you update to 3.1 using the official Apple IPSW, which updates the baseband.  So stay away from official 3.1 IPSWs until we release the tools that let you update the firmware without updating the baseband.

Apple issues heat warning for iPhone 3G and 3GS Apple has provided a set of guidelines to help prevent users from overheating their iPhone 3G and 3GS handsets. Although the support page does not directly acknowledge the widespread reports of excessive heat with the new 3GS model, the company suggests the handsets should be operated in temperatures below 95℉ (35℃) and stored in areas that do not exceed 113℉ (45℃)....
