I actually haven’t reviewed this app since it was first released so, I thought I would catch it up since it has had some pretty cool updates.

When the app was first released, it was pretty basic, it only contained a few features… the ability to turn on/off Show Battery and turn on/off Show Percentage. Since then, an Accuracy feature has been added that allows you to choose if you want the accuracy of your battery percentage to be based on the official SDK or based on more accurate battery percentages like SBSettings numeric battery or the default setting.

It app also has a Premium version that can be purchased for $0.99. The Premium version has a lot more features including; tapping the battery to switch between the percentage and the battery image, custom battery percentage options, custom low battery and charging battery image options and the ability to remove the percent symbol (leaving just the percentage number).

For $0.99, you get quite a few cool options. The custom options also allow the ability to change the font size and color of the battery percentage, low battery and charging battery images. Check out the screenshots below. You can get Battery Control via the modmyi source.

Once the app is installed, it is added as an option in the stock Settings application. The app gives you two options, turn on/off Show Battery and turn on/off Show Percentage.

A simple application but, I think one of the only that allows you to turn off the battery icon and still leave the battery percentage. Doug like that he can turn off the battery icon and have some additional space on his statusbar. You can get Battery Control via modmyi source.

All of the options are nicely explained so that you know exactly what each one does. The only option that doesn’t have an explanation is the Respring option. If you turn the Respring option On, it will instantly respring your device.

All the options worked quickly and nicely. The only feature that I would say doesn’t work fully is the Hide Battery Elements. The description says that is hides all battery elements when the device is plugged in however, I found that it only hides the lock screen battery. I thought it was going to hide the status bar battery as well but it did not.

Also, the Reflective Dock option will not overwrite your WinterBoard theme. If you have a theme turned on in WinterBoard that has a specific dock (that is not reflective) and you turn on the Reflective Dock option in iHandy, it will not overwrite the WinterBoard theme and make the dock reflect.

You can get many of these option through different application but, if you are looking to have them all in one place… then this might be the app for you. iHandy;) is available via the modmyi source.

One of my favorite mods on my jailbreak iPhone is that I can display the exact battery percentage of my battery on the status bar. Well, Apple has made this feature available on the iPhone 3GS. To enable the Status Bar percentage just go into your stock Settings application, then the General option, then the Usage option. In the Usage option, you will find the Battery Percentage feature…just turn it on.

Once turned on, it will display the exact percentage of charge your battery has to the left of the battery image on your Status Bar. Simple and easy. A cool little feature.

I also found that if you are willing to give it a shot, you can purchase the touch screen (IP-2320) and the LCD (IP-2321) for $69.99 each on their website. Below is the video demo.

It’s a pretty kewl concept and is great for someone like me who’s on the go a lot. What’s nice is you can charge both your device and the extra battery pack at the same time. The downfall for me is it’s a dongle style attachment. They make the iPhone too long for me when attached. That’s why I love my Mophie Juice Pack because it slides up behind the iPhone and doesn’t feel like I’m going to break it off like a dongle style does. Incase has an even slimmer style battery called the Power Slider Battery. Both cost much more than Griffin’s PowerBlock Reserve which is just $39.99 while the others are $79.99 and $99.99. Check out the full press release after the photo gallery.

When I upgraded to the 3.0 firmware I thought that it was pretty kewl that a few features from jailbreaking where still in place. My carrier was still set to “Ahhyeah” and my battery percentage was still in the status bar. This usually happens with any jailbreak followed by a firmware upgrade. I set both features when jailbroke; my carrier logo with MakeItMine and the battery percentage with Supreme Preferences.

This is all kewl but what caught my attention was the battery percentage looked different. I used to be able to tap on my battery and it would switch to numbers, just numbers. Now it’s to the left of the battery and there all the time. It also has a percent sign(%) next to it and when it drops to 20% or lower, the text turns red. I thought maybe this was a developer feature when beta testing firmware but I had never heard of it before and wasn’t hearing anyone else talk about it with current firmware.
//-->

Recently, AppleInsider and some other sites have been talking about some hidden features being discovered withing firmware 3.0. One of them… battery percentage. I’m actually on Beta 2 right now so I’m guessing it’s been there since beta 1 but they are just now finding it. So far I haven’t found a way to turn it on and off but I don’t have Beta 3 yet, although it may not be in there yet either.

Another feature is in Safari. After closing all pages but your current page, you can now tap the red X on the last page to get a blank page. This is a nice feature but of course the best is the ability to close all tabs at once. I hear this is a new feature to come but I don’t see it in my Beta 2. If you can’t wait, there’s a jailbreak version that works great.

Finally, data detectors are the ability for the iPhone to detect things like phone numbers and email address with in text in apps. Once detected you can click them to launch the phone app or email. (again, working on Beta 2)

Ok guys, here is the deal…I’m going to do my best to explain this application however, I have to admit that about half of it means absolutely nothing to me! So, I will keep it brief and give you some screenshots (hopefully I don’t leave any info that I shouldn’t in the screenshots!!).

Here we go, SysInfoPlus is basically an application that gives you probably every piece of information available to give about your iPhone or iPod Touch. When you open the app you will see five options on the lower menu bar; System, Process, Memory, Disk and Network.

In the System option, you will find a ton of system information. Everything from Load Average to Battery Info to Network Interface Info to Storage Specs to Device Info to Kernel Info to Hardware Info. I mean seriously…like everything you could ever want to know!

The Process option will give you a list of all your iPhone processes (main apps, mobile user processes and other processes). If you select one, you will get even more information about the process and the ability to stop the process.

The Memory option will give you some nice memory stats. This includes how many MB of Free, Active, Inactive and Wired memory you have.

The Disk option will give you info about both the System Area and the User Area…including how many MB you are using and that are available for both areas (interesting info!).

The Network option give you Network Interface stats and Various Network reports.

If you are totally into knowing EVERYTHING about your iPhone then this is most defiantly an app for you. I personally will only use a few aspects of this app (Process, Memory and Disk info) but, even then…it does a nice job of laying out the info in a user friendly interface.
