Custom E-Mail Signature (updated)

MailThere is a hack out that will allow you to change your email signature in Mail. We wrote about it before for older firmware but someone emailed us and asked why it doesn’t work with 2.x firmware. The main reason is the directory path has changed to mobile from root. I’m also updating the link to convert the file to XML. It’s not easy, so be ready to spend a few minutes on this one:

1. Make sure your signature is not the default one that only says, “Sent from my iPhone”. Changing it to anything else so it creates a custom file.

2. Backup existing config file for mail. It’s called com.apple.mobilemail.plist and it’s located in the /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ folder. Just SSH in and copy it to your computer somewhere in case you mess the file up :) [Read more…]

Stylem Greetings

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

StylemStylem is an application that allows you to send custom greetings via email. When you open the application, you will get the main page. Here you will seen three categories on the lower menu bar; Popular, Recent and Categories. The app defaults to the Popular category. If you select the Categories option you will get quite a few options such as; Love, Friends, Happy Birthday, Thinking Of You, Congratulations….etc. Once you select a category it will bring you back to the main screen as it loads the available images for that category. It is a little slow on Edge but if you have 3G or are on WiFi most of the time…it is no problem. You can scroll through the available images by using the arrows buttons. The Home button will bring you back to the first page of the images. [Read more…]

iCheckMail 1.0

iCheckMail iCheckMail is an application that allows you to change the interval in which your email is automatically checked. In the iPhone’s stock Mail Settings, you have the options to Auto-Check your email Manually, Every 15 Minutes, Every 30 Minutes and Every Hour. iCheckMail allows you to enter any minute interval that you would like. When the application opens, you will get a pop-up where you can enter how often you would like it to auto-check. The number has to be in whole minutes (1, 5, 30…), it will not allow seconds. Once you have entered the interval you would like, select ok. You will get a pop-up letting you know that the new interval has been set. If you change the auto-check in the Stock Settings, it will overwrite the interval you just set in iCheckMail. Ok, as cool as this concept sounds, [Read more…]

IntelliScreen The update to version 1.04 of IntelliScreen adds a few new features and fixes a few bugs. The new feature that I like the most is that if you have one of the features set as Only-If-New, it shows up in the View Layout and you are able to position it however you would like. I also noticed that the Calendar is automatically added as a larger size and then you can change it to the size you would like it. They have also added [Read more…]

moleskine 0.47b1

moleskine Version 0.47b1 of moleskine makes a few changes and adds a very cool new features. In this version, the accelerometer has been disabled while creating and new folder/note and while recording sound. Both of which are great changes. The cool new feature is that you can now email the photo’s you take in moleskine. You can either email a note and a photo or just a photo. The photo is attached to the email as a .jpg file which also makes it viewable on the iPhone. moleskine is available through the databinge source.

Also, there is no way to email a note that has both a photo and sound attachment. However, the developer has come up with this technique:
1) email note+voice recording
2) moleskine will exit, and launch Mail
3) exit Mail, and launch moleskine
4) attach photo
5) moleskine will exist, and lunch Mail
depending on the order that you want your notes, voice recording(s), photo(s) to show up, you can send and attach files in the order that you wish.

Here is a video showing how to email a note with both a photo and sound attachment.
