Facebook 3.0 Submitted to App Store

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

Facebook About a month and a half ago, we wrote about the 3.0 update for Facebook and all the new features it was going to include. Yesterday Joe Hewitt, the developer of the App Store Facebook application, submitted the update to the App Store. So, now it is up to Apple. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for an app to be approved by Apple. We will see if this one gets through faster or not. I don’t know about you guys but, I’m totally stoked for the “new” facebook app! More details are to come later this week! [Read more…]

Lexulous – Triple Word Score for Double Letter Price

Available In: App Store       Price: $3.99

Lexulous I was late to the Facebook game, and although I do enjoy a good status update every now and then, I am definitely not a FB addict. One of the things I constantly hear from other friends who are self described addicts is how much time they spend playing games online. We’re not talking huge video games like Quake or Call of Duty, but rather simple ones like Boggle or Poker. One of the most popular games was Scrabulous, a Scrabble knockoff that got some interesting press a few months ago when Hasbro decided that they wanted to make some money on their game title. Well, the popular word game (now named Lexulous) has arrived to the iPhone in the form of a native app. [Read more…]

FaceMic Update – Sweet New Features

Available In: App Store       Price: $0.99

FaceMic Today, there was an update to FaceMic, an app that allows you to record audio and then send it straight to your Facebook page (posting it on your “wall”). The update adds quite a few new features (see change log below). Two of the coolest new features include the ability to upload photos with audio recording and the ability to pick a specific friend and post an audio recording to their wall! [Read more…]

TwitVid Update – Upload Videos to Facebook, MySpace and YouTube

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

TwitVid TwitVid recently updated their website/app adding the ability to upload your videos to Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. To turn the features on, you you will need to go to their website, login and choose where you would like the videos to upload.

The next time you post a video to Twitter using TwitVid, it will also add the video to the other places you have chosen. You do not have the choice to post one video to just Twitter and another to both Twitter and Facebook. Once you turn on the Facebook (or YouTube or MySpace) option on the website, it will automatically upload all the videos you post on Twitter to the other places. In order to not upload a video to a certain place, you would have to go back onto the website and remove that option.

Things to note:
– When a video is uploaded to Facebook it adds the video to your “wall” however, it does not add it to the actual Video app in Facebook.

– When a video is uploaded to YouTube it is uploaded directly into your YouTube account.

– When a video is uploaded to MySpce – WHAT! Who uses MySpace!!

More Features for Facebook 3.0 Update – Video Upload

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

facebook Yesterday, Doug wrote about the Facebook 3.0 update and all the cool new features that it is going to have. Well, it seems the developer is still hard at work and if those new features weren’t enough, he has also integrated video upload ability into the 3.0 update. I have a feeling he has made a lot of iPhone 3GS users happy with the new feature. He also said, “Nothing like a few bazillion emails, tweets, and blog comments to motivate you to sneak in a few extra features at the last minute.” We don’t know what the “few extra features” are but, so far, he is off to a great start! Keep up the good work!

Facebook 3.0 Update Coming Soon

Coming Soon: App Store       Price: Free

FacebookKeep your eyes on the update tab in the App Store! Facebook will be releasing an update to their iPhone app very soon! I have to admit I’m pretty excited about this. Right now, the app is very clunky not to mention the major bug of messages from groups in your inbox don’t show up. There’s lots to be excited about though. Here’s a list of upcoming features straight from the developer’s Facebook account: [Read more…]

Available In: App Store       Price: $0.99

FaceMic No need to type your Facebook update…now you can speak it! FaceMic is a pretty cool application that allows you to record audio and then send it straight to your Facebook page (posting it on your “wall”). FaceMic is very well designed and extremely easy to use.

When you open FaceMic, you will notice four options on the lower menu bar; Record, History, Setup and About. You will want to start with the Setup option. Here you will need to enter your Facebook info (email address and password). Once you have finished entering your info, you will then need to select the Grant Permission option. That is all it takes to setup FaceMic. [Read more…]

PhotoList Update – Facebook Integration

Available In: App Store       Price: $1.99

PhotoList I opened iTunes this evening and what did I see? An update to an app that I had done a review on last week. It was the PhotoList app by Raisix Inc. (click here for the review) I was interested to see what they had updated and I was hoping it wasn’t just stability issues as most updates are. But to my surprise they had added a new feature to the app…Facebook integration!! Now that is cool.

The Facebook integration allows you to do two things: Upload and Download photos to and from your personal Facebook account.

To Download
Within PhotoList, create a new folder that you want to download pics from your Facebook account. Tap on your new created folder and tap the folder icon at the bottom right of the screen. Tap “Facebook” on the “Download photo from” title and after it requests authorization, sign into your Facebook account. Once you have done this tap “Done” and start downloading from any of your Facebook photo folders. Once you have selected your photo, name it or keep the default name and give it your 1 to 5 rating (if you want), and tap “Done”. Once you are done, tap the Facebook arrow and then cancel to take you back to the PhotoList app. [Read more…]

qTweeter – Update Twitter and/or Facebook Status From Any Application

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free Trial then Donation

qTweeter Last night, just before going to bed, I checked Cydia like I always do. I was surprised to see that Ste Packaging had released an app (it has been a while since I have seen one from them). This instantly made me a little curious about the application so, I decided to check it out. At first I was like, “Yeah, that is just what I need…another Twitter application!” But, after I installed and tested the app…it realized this was like no other Twitter application I had!

qTweeter allows you to update your Twitter and Facebook from any application. How that app works is, once installed, you can slide your finger from your status bar down the page. This brings up a nicely designed little user interface. The first time you launch the app (swipe from the status bar down) you will get a Welcome to qTweeter page. Here you will want to select the Start Using qTweeter option. [Read more…]

Facebook 2.0

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

FacebookFacebook has release an update to their application for the iPhone. Don’t be confused, this is not their web app, which a lot of people thought was more functional than the app from the App Store. With the recent update, there’s no competition. There are a ton of new features. One of my favorites is the sub-menu under the News Feed that allows you to scroll it from right to left. One feature I have had troubles with is the chat tab. Sometimes when selecting a friend, the application crashes. Here’s the complete list of features from the upgrade page:

– Notifications (don’t confuse this with the future feature from Apple. This is just access to the notifications section in Facebook
– The full News Feed
– News Feed story comments
– People search
– Friend requests
– Photo tagging
– Photo captioning
– Photo posts to your friends’ Walls
– The full Mini-Feed, now combined with The Wall
– Your entire inbox, plus the sent folder and updates tab
– Inbox search
– Message attachments

Here are a bunch of screenshots showing some of the new features: [Read more…]

iPhoneLocator 1.1.3d

iPhoneLocatorSS iPhoneLocator is an app that will put your current location and your past nine locations on your Facebook page. It uses cell towers or WiFi to find your location and then displays them in a Google map on your Facebook page. If you have friends that have the application on their Facebook, it will also display where they have been on your map. I have actually been testing this app for quite a while now, however, I didn’t think it worked well enough to post about. But, a few updates later, it is working much better and is really cool! Here is how it works.

1. Go to this url. This will bring you to a screen where you can sign into your Facebook account. It will then open the main page for the iPhoneLocator Facebook app. To add the application to your Facebook page, select Add Application. You can choose the options you want and select Add iPhone Locater. Once you select Add iPhone Locator, it will open the iPhoneLocator Set-up page. You will see, “Setting up your iPhone…” In this section, they will give you a private Repository URL (you will not want to give this to anyone).
