iSummer isummertheme iSummer is a nice WinterBoard theme that contains slides, a dock, status bar, badges, dialer, pop-up mod, wallpaper, 64 icons…etc. It is a dark theme but, it is well designed. I did notice that the theme folder has an icons2 folder with more icons in it. So, if you are ssh savvy, you can ssh into the Library/Theme/iSummer 2.0/icons2 folder and copy out all the icons and add them to the Library/Themes/iSummer 2.0/Icons folder. Scour – WinterBoard Theme

Scour scourtheme2 Scour is a unique WinterBoard theme, nicely designed theme. I haven’t seen one quite like this. It contains; a dock, status bar, wallpaper, badges and 47 icons. There is one problem with this theme, the Weather icon was not packaged correctly and so you will need to ssh in (Library/Themes/Scour/Icons) and change the weather.png icon to Weather.png. The One Ring – WinterBoard Theme

The One Ring theoneringtheme2 The One Ring is a Lord of the Rings inspired theme. The theme contains a wallpaper, lock screen background, status bar, badges, sliders, lock screen battery, 79 icons, loading screen, calculator mod, dialer mod and basically an entire UI mod. Usually I do not write about themes that are based off thins like Lord of the Rings or Mickey Mouse or whatever but, this one is very complete. The only issue is that it is packaged for firmware 2.x so that Message app doesn’t have an icon. That can be easily fixed by sshing into the Library/Themes/The One Ring/Icons folder and changes Texts.png to Messages.png. You can get The One Ring Theme via the BigBoss source. [Read more...]

Alit – WinterBoard Theme

Alit alittheme2 Alit is a WinterBoard theme that contains a wallpaper, status bar, dock, lock screen background, slider, 65 icons and badge. The theme’s folder also contains an icon template, a .psd file (you can get the file by sshing in and it is located in the Library/Themes/Alit.theme folder). The unique thing about this theme is that it themes all icons (except web clips and some random Cydia apps). If the theme doesn’t have a specific icon made for an app, it just themes the app’s original icon (see screenshots below). It even themes the icons in the App Store. If you open the App Store app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, while Alit is enabled, you will notice that even the app thumbnails are themed! It is nice to have themes like this. That way, all the icons are themed instead of half of them. It helps that it is a cool theme too…I really like the dock. [Read more...]

Boxxy cons Theme boxxyconstheme3 Boxxy cons Theme is a unique theme made up of small icons. The theme contains a dock, wallpaper and 29 icons. Unfortunately, the theme is not packaged for the 3.0 firmware which means if you are on 3.0, you will need to ssh in and change Text.png to Messages.png. Metallic Glass Theme – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard metallicblacktheme3 Metallic Glass Theme is a theme with transparent icons. Many of you know that I am always on the look-out for a new style of transparent icons (because you can change the wallpaper and feel like you have a whole new theme!). This theme contains a wallpaper, dock, sliders, 58 icons, loading screens, custom UI….etc.

I do have a few problems with this theme. The Message application doesn’t have an icon. There is an icon for SwirlyMMS so, you can always change it to your Message icon using ssh. Five-Column SpringBoard Update – Supports 3.0 Firmware

Five-Column SpringBoard Today the Five-Column SpringBoard (FCSB) mod was updated to version 0.57 (and 0.57-1). The update does a few cool things; it makes the mod compatible with both 2.2.x and 3.0 firmware and it also moves the enable/disable toggle into the stock Setting application instead of creating an icon on the SpringBoard…which I really like! Below is the the change log for both the 0.57 and the 0.57-1 updates.

To toggle the FCSB mod, just open your stock Settings application and select the Five-Column SB option. You can then choose to enable or disable the mod. Which ever you do, it will respring your SpringBoard. I had no problem when I tested the update on firmware 3.0…it worked perfectly. You can get the FCSB mod via the Ste Packaging source. Apple’s New Icon Layout

iPhone 3GS Icon Layout I don’t know if you guys have noticed or not but, Apple seems to have rearranged the icons on the iPhone. The 3.0 firmware adds a Voice Memos application. Instead of adding the Voice Memos app at the end, they add it to the third row of apps and then rearrange the entire third row of apps. Previously it went Clock, Calculator, Notes and Settings now, they have it as Voice Memos, Notes, Clock, Calculator. Why in the world would they do that?? Why not just add the Voice Memos application to the end and leave the rest of the apps alone? Especially since they add the new Compass application to the end of the apps on the iPhone 3GS….they didn’t add it amongst the already exciting apps. Totally weird.

Personally, I’m totally going to have to rearrange them so that they are “normal.” I’m waaaay to used to it the way it is now…I would go to use the Calculator and open Notes instead. [Read more...]

BlankNull Now in BigBoss Repo

BlankNull If you have fallen victim to the new iNav theme craze, you probably know how annoying it can be to have a ton of blank web clips on your SpringBoard. Well, there is a solution, BlankNull. BlankNull is an application that, when installed, removes the “link” on webclips. So, when you miss your icon and tap on a blank icon, it will no longer open Safari. Instead, it will do nothing…it basically turns it into a blank icon instead of a webclip! Pretty cool!

But, I will have to admit that this is not the first time we have seen this application. BlankNull is normally part of the Apple-News.fr source however, it has apparently now been added to the BigBoss source. [Read more...]

SixRows – Six Rows on Your SpringBoard (Seven Counting the Dock)

##ICON_NAME## SixRows is a mod that allows you to have six rows of icons on your SpringBoard. Technically it is seven rows of icons if you include the dock. There is currently already a mod that allows you to have five rows of icons (six including the dock) called FiveIrows. There is also another mod allowing for five columns on your SpringBoard called FCSB. So, I guess SixRows just gives you one more option for modding your iPhone or iPod Touch exactly they way you would like it.

When you install SixRows, your device will respring and you will instantly have six (seven) rows on your SpringBoard. This mod can not be activated/deactivated via WinterBoard. Also, because the SixRows mod really squishes your icons together, it does not display the icon titles (they are overlapped by the next row of icons). So, unless the theme is designed specifically for the SixRows mod, you will probably want to turn your icon labels off via WinterBoard. [Read more...]

iBlank – Create and Delete Blank Icons

iBlank Ok, iBlank has been out for some time now however, it has been a while since I have done a review of it. With all the iNav inspired themes lately, I thought it would be good to do another review of iBlank since it has had some updates since the last time I wrote about it. Most iNav themes seem to install blank icons or web clips when you install/activate the theme. Well, last night, I was settings up a slightly tedious iNav theme (which I will do a review of soon) that did not install blank icon automatically so, I had to use the iBlank application.

iBlank allows you to create blank icons. You can create 1 to 16 blank icons at a time. If you need more than 16 icons you can choose 16, wait for them to be created, choose 16 again, wait for them to be created and so on until you have as many as you need. What I really like about iBlank is that you can also quickly delete all your blank icons at once! If you create blank icons (they are technically web clips) using iBlank you can either delete them individually in “wiggle” mode or all at once using the iBlank application. [Read more...]

Reflective Dock Update – Adds Setting Options

Reflective Dock The Reflective Dock mod is a mod that allows the icons on your dock to have reflections. Well, it seems that Mr. David Ashman has updated the mod adding all sorts of new settings.

Once installed, you can now go into your stock Settings application and you will see a Reflective Dock option. Here you are able to Enable/Disable the application (no more need for WinterBoard), turn on/off the Reflect All Icons option, turn on/off the Use Gradient options and adjust the Opacity, Reflection Gap, Reflection Length Factor and the Horizontal Shift.

Round and Round – WinterBoard Theme

round & round roundandround3 Round and Round is a theme that consists of transparent round icons. Unlike the popular Glass Orb theme, Round and Round adds a bit of color with a colored graphic inside of each transparent circle. Honestly, I feel like I have seen these icons before but, I can’t come up with the name of the theme so maybe they are just similar to another theme’s icons. Round and Round only contains the basic 16 icons and a Cydia icon (no iTunes and App Store icons with this one), a dock and a wallpaper.
