MobileNotifier – A Better Notification System

I really, really, really hate the pop up notifications on the iPhone. Really. So when I saw this alternative I was very excited to try it out. It looks great and so far, works well. Instead of getting a pop up for a text, you get what’s pictured below. Much better. When you receive a text, you will be able to select if you want to view it now or later. If you choose now, it opens up your Messages app and if you choose later, it leaves a badge on the stock Messages app icon and closes the notification.

IconMaker – Create Custom Icons From Your iPhone

IconMaker is a pretty cool application that allows you to quickly create custom icons right from your device. It turns images into nice shiny, rounded icons. Personally, this is an awesome application for me. I create icons all the time and now, instead of opening Photoshop on my computer and creating an icon, I can create it right on my iPhone!

When you open the application, there are a few options;

No Screenshot Flash – Remove “Flash Effect” When Taking Screenshot

Page2D – Scroll SpringBoard Both Vertically and Horizontally [Video]

Page2D is a sweet hack that allows the SpringBoard to scroll both horizontally and vertically. This brings me back to the day (way before Apple came out with the scrolling SpringBoard) when we scrolled the SpringBoard vertically instead of horizontally. Anyway, this is a pretty cool hack that allows you to do both horizontally and vertically… allowing for A TON of page options. Check out the video demos below. Note the page dots on the bottom of the SpringBoard that help you keep track of what page you are on. I’m glad it adds the page dots because when I was watching the video, I was like, I’m sooo going to get lost in my pages!!

EasyRearrange – Quickly Rearrange Icons

EasyRearrange is a hack that allows you to quickly rearrange apps on your SpringBoard. The hack starts like every other rearranging application… by putting your icons into “wiggle” mode so that you are able to move them around your SpringBoard. Now, this is where the application is different from the rest, you then tap the icon you would like to move. This will suspend the icon allowing you to scroll to the page you would like the icon moved to. So, instead of dragging the icon from one page to the next page to the next page until you are on the page you would like… the icon stays put and the pages move behind it. Then, just tap the Home button and the icon will drop onto that page.

FBphotoSave – Save Photos from Facebook Application to Camera Roll

FBphotoSave is a hack that allows you save photos from the Facebook application to your Camera Roll. Normally, the stock photo saving method that allows you to tap and hold on an image to save it to your device does not work in the Facebook application however FBphotoSave enables this feature.

It’s a super simple little hack. Once installed, you can use the hack by tapping and holding on any photo in the Facebook application. When you release your hold, you will get a pop-up with the options to Cancel the save or Confirm the save. If you select Confirm it will display a little HUD saying that the photo has been saved. ShowCase is a nice little hack that changes the stock keyboard to display the current character case of the letters. Normally, the letters on the keyboard are always displayed as uppercase no matter if you have have the “Shift” key selected or not. With this hack, when the “Shift” key is selected, the characters on the keyboard will display as uppercase letters however if the “Shift” key is not selected, the characters on the keyboard will display as lowercase letters.

iCarbons – Carbon Fiber Skins

iCarbon skins are one of the best carbon fiber effect skins for iDevices around today! The skins come in white or black, with a carbon fiber look and feel. The skins are available for a variety of Apple devices and other devices too.

I was lucky enough to receive an iPad skin and a iPod Touch skin from iCarbons to review and I’ve got to say, I am very impressed! The skins are extremely easy to install and look amazing. They add minimal bulk to your device and are also scratch proof!

To install the skins all you need to do is peel the skin off of the backing sheet, align it with your device and then stick and push any bubbles out. I did have a little mishap when applying to my iPod Touch in which a corner wouldn’t stick down, but using a hair dryer on a low heat setting, I was able to heat the skin slightly and it then stick down with no problems.

What I found is that it does indeed stop the ability to scroll between pages on your SpringBoard however, you are able to tap next to the page dots on the bottom of the SpringBoard to go to the next page. Tap to the left of the page dots to scroll left and tap to the right of the page dots to scroll right.
