Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## As I mentioned yesterday, the SBRotator mod (a hack that allows your iPhone to rotate in all 4 possible orientations) now has an SBSettings toggle. The toggle is free if you have already purchased the SBRotator mod. I honestly have been trying since yesterday to get the toggle to install and was finally able to get it today. So, here we go.

Slim Slide – Slider Mode

If you are not a huge fan of the stock ‘Slide to Unlock’ slider but, do not want to get rid of the slider altogether, Slim Slide might be the mod for you. Slim Slide is a simple and clean slider that is activated/deactivated via WinterBoard. This might be a nice mod for those of you who have a lockscreen mod (such as LockInfo) and would like to have a slider that doesn’t take up as much of your lockscreen space.

I had no issues when I activated the mod. You can get Slim Slider via the modmyi source. Screenshots below.

SBRotator SBRotator, a hack that allows your iPhone to rotate in all 4 possible orientations, had been updated to version 1.3. The update adds a couple new features, support for more applications (biteSMS, Iconoclasm… etc) and contains quite a few bug fixes (see change log below).

Apple Page Dots

WinterboardHere’s a pretty simple little mod. It just changes your dots that tell you what page you’re on at your homescreen to Apple logos. The way it was originally designed was to have the small apple be the page you’re on and the big ones for the rest of the pages. I thought it would look better with the page I’m on be the larger apple and the rest be smaller. Again, all I did was use iFile to browse into the folder in the Themes folder and rename each image file to the opposite name. You can see below the change:

This theme is found in the ModMyi Source.

Apple Magic Mouse Lockscreen and Slider

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WinterboardI was mostly looking at this mod for the slider but it also comes with a wallpaper. Unfortunately you can’t change the wallpaper unless you do a little hacking. I use an app from Cydia called iFile. This lets me browse the file system and make tweaks to themes and other files. I just went into the themes folder and found the Apple Magic Mouse Lockscreen folder. There was a file called LockBackground.png. I just renamed it to LockBackground.pngx. You could name it anything really, or delete it. Of course this is all activated in Winterboard once it’s in stalled.

BTW, the real Magic Mouse is pretty kewl. I’ve hacked mine to give me some more features which makes it even better. The downfall is the price, $69.00.

Apple Magic Mouse Lockscreen can be found in the ModMyi source.

Element Lockscreen Now Available in Cydia!

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## I don’t know about you guys but it seems like FOREVER since we wrote that the Element lockscreen concept was going to become reality. Well, it looks as though it has finally made it’s way into Cydia. A few days ago, I was perusing (yes, perusing) Cydia and to my astonishment what did I see… Element. At first I thought it was a theme or maybe some random look-a-like but after some further exploration I found it to be the real deal. However, I’m going to warn you right away, don’t get too excited this is definitely a first release.

The lockscreen was released in Cydia as a cydget. For those of you who do not know what Cydget is, it is “framework for managing lock screen plugins.” Which means, like most cydgets, it runs a little slow. Once you install the app (you will also want to install the Cydget ‘app’ if you do not already have it installed), you will then need to go into your stock Settings application under the Cydget option and tap on Element to activate it on your loackscreen. Once you have done that, you can go into your stock Settings and find the Element option where you will see some basic Setting for the Element lockscreen.

Element – Lock Screen Mod Coming Soon

element Element is a lock screen mod that began as a concept and has turned into the real thing. Since it began as a concept back in September, there hasn’t been much to tell, but it seems that that one and only Jay Freeman (better known as saurik) is helping to make this thing happen. So, it’s time to get the information rolling. According to a recent tweet (see below), a beta of the lock screen mod will hit Cydia next week.

“Our iPhone lockscreen will be called Element. Fingers are crossed for a beta next week.” – via @gteehan

I don’t know about you guys but, I would love to have the perfect lock screen mod! I’m currently using LockInfo and like it. I can’t wait to check out Element… it looks like it is going to be pretty sweet.

Below is some info about the mod via the dev’s blog.

SpringLocker – Turn Off the Ability to Move Icons

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## SpringLocker is a hack that allows you to turn off the ability to move the icons on your SpringBoard.

Once the app is installed, it is added in the stock Settings application. The only option the app has is the ability to turn the Lock Icons option on or off. If you turn the Lock Icons option On… it will turn off the ability to rearrange the icons on your SpringBoard.

When you turn ON Lock Icons, your icons will no longer go into “wiggle mode.” If you tap and hold an icon on your SpringBoard, it will not start to wiggle and will not be able to be moved instead the application will launch as if you tapped on it and did not tap and hold it.

Volume Buttons Disable Hack

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## Volume Buttons Disable is a hack that does exactly what the title says… disables your volume buttons. As soon as you install the hack, and your device resprings, the volume buttons on the side of your device will no longer work. I’m not exactly sure why you would want this but… there’s a hack for that!

If for some reason you do install this hack, you can always adjust your volume using the SBSettings Volume Slider Widget which allows you to quickly adjust your volume via a slider in SBSettings.

Five Icon Dock A few days ago there was an update to the Five Icon Dock mod…sorry, I forgot to write about it! I know some of you are having issues with the Five Icon Dock mod on the 3.x firmware which honestly, I think it weird because i haven’t had any problems with it on any of our test iPhone’s or our personal iPhones. Either way, hopefully this update fixes it for those of you experiencing issues. Below is all the info I have about the update (which isn’t much). [Read more…]

FontSwap Update – Fixes Default Alignment Issues

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

FontSwap The update to version 1.5 of FontSwap does a few things. First off, it adds a new Restore Default Fonts option which allows you to change all fonts back to default at once (instead of having to go into each option and change them back to default one at a time). It also fixes the default alignment issues. Now, when you go back to the default system font, the badge, time…etc are all aligned correctly. YAY! [Read more…]

Fix For FontSwap Alignment Problems on 3.0 Firmware

FonwSwapJust a quick update about the problems we were having with the alignment of fonts on 3.0 firmware. The other day I noticed that when I set my system font back to default with FontSwap, the alignment was off on my badges, clock, toggle switches and more. Even after uninstalling the app I still had problems. I figured out that if I used the stock font from 3.0 firmware and SSH’d it in the “default” folder of FontSwap it would fix the problem. I’m assuming that the developer just left the 2.0 firmware font in the default folder instead of using the 3.0 font. If you need the original you can download it here: http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/files/stockfont.zip
