Satine is a new theme available in Cydia via the modmyi.com source. It comes with the basics; icons, wallpaper, dock, status bar…etc. However, it does have smaller icons which might make it an option for those of you using the FiveIrows mod or the FCSB mod.

How to Install

1. Your device must be jailbroken. (how?)
2. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed via Cydia.
2. Make sure you have the modmyi.com sourceinstalled in Cydia.
3. Search for Satine in Cydia, run the install.
4. Open WinterBoard and activate the Satine theme.

Colorful Round Signal Bars is a mod that changes the signal bars on your Status Bar (those are the bars that display the signal quality you are receiving from your carrier). There are a few of these type of mods in Cydia but, I find this one to be nicely designed. So, if you are looking for a change…you might want to check it out. This mod is activated/deactivated in WinterBoard and is available via the ModMyi source.

Illuminated is a WinterBoard theme available via Cydia. This is one of Doug’s favorites themes. It is similar to the Time of Day theme that I wrote about a few days ago. Illuminated also changes your wallpaper based on what time is it. However, I actually like the look of this theme a little more than the Time of Day theme and it changes more often. In the Illuminated theme, there are eight wallpapers which means they change every three hours. The wallpapers represent the time of day, displaying a sun or moon that moves around your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen. See screenshots below.

Well, I cant wait any longer. I was trying to hold out until Installer 4.0 was available on the 2.0 firmware before I started doing reviews of application but, I can’t wait any longer! Many of you who have previously jailbroken iPhones are familiar with Make it Mine by Erica Sadun. It is an application that allows you to easily change your carrier logo to any text that you enter into the application. Well, MIM available on the 2.0 firmware allows you to change the Banner as well. When you open MakeItMine, you will get the main screen. Here you can enter text into the text box. Then select either the Carrier or Banner buttons depending on which you would like to change. They change immediately which is nice because then you can see what they look like without closing the application. If you would like them to go back to default, just delete everything in the text box and then select Carrier or Banner and it will change them back to default. This application works perfectly for me. It is available through the ModMyiFone source but, you don’t really need to know that because there is no way to add sources to Cydia so whatever is in Cydia is in Cydia!

3DZapman is basically a 3D version of PacMan. When you open the application, you will get a splash screen and then the info screen. The info screen will give you your device ID and a place to enter your unlock code if you decide to purchase the full app. The full version of the application is $6.99 USD. However, you can play a demo of the app by selecting the Demo option in the lower right corner. The demo version is restricted to one level and has a time limit.

Once you have select Demo, you will then get a screen with the options; Start Game, Options and Credits. In the Options you have the ability to turn on/off the background and music. You can also adjust the volume of the sound affects. To get back to the main menu, select Back. When you select Start Game, you will be brought to the main play screen.

Here you will see your current Score and High Score at the top of the screen. At the bottom of the screen you will see the number of lives you have left, the controls and a back arrow icon. The green back arrow option will end the game. To move your guy, just tap on one of the three arrow controls on the screen…based on which direction you would like to move. The object of the game is to capture all the teal balls without getting eaten by the monster guys. If you capture one of the four green balls, the game turns into almost a night mode affect. While in this affect, you cannot be eaten by the monsters. When you run out of lives or time (the demo version has a time limit) you will get a screen that says something like…Register Now to get 8 additional levels.

This game is not too bad. It took a little practice to get used to the controls and I think the little Pacman guy needs to move faster but, other than that, not too bad. Let me know in the comments if it is something you would spend $6.99USD on. You can get 3DZapman via the ModMyiFone source.

The update to version 1.6.5 of AppleTap changes the lower menu bar. Instead of including; Features, Apple, Search and Mac vs PC…it now includes Featured, Apple and More. In the more options, you will find; Mac vs PC, Search, and the Timeline. There have not been any changes to the functionality of the options, they have just been moved. In the Apple option, the classic section has been removed and only contains current products. There were also a few commercials added to the Mac vs PC section, a few more products added to the Timeline and the apps files have been cleaned up. The only issue I am having with this application is that the menu buttons are hard to select again. We went through this when the application was first released however, the developer fixed it after a few updates. Now that the menu has changed, the options are hard to select again. I’m sure we will see a fix in the next few updates. You can get AppleTap via the ModMyiFone source.

The update to version 2.0 of Poddle adds quite a few new features! When you open the application, you will get a pop-up explaining how to play the game. The appearance of the main screen has not changed a ton however, there are a few new features. You will notice that there are two green pegs in with yellow and blue pegs. The green pegs will explode when your ball hits them and they are worth more points. Another change I noticed is that your high score is displayed on the top right of the screen and your score for the current game is still displayed on the top left of the screen. The New button in the upper right corner now works as well and will start a new game when selected. The Menu option has also been updated. You are now able to choose from five options; How To?, Themes, Credits, Donate and Close. In the themes option, you can choose between four themes for the application. There are six themes listed however, only 1-4 are available. It does also seem like the graphics have been improved with this version of the application as well. The Restore option allows you to restore each individual setting (Restore Colors, Restore Internal Battery, Restore Headset Batter, Restore Refresh Timer) or you can choose to restore all. No matter which option you select, you will get a pop-up in which you can choose whether or not you would like to restore the settings. I personally like to have the ability to customize applications to fit my preferences and this app definitly allows that! You can get MyBattery through the ModMyiFone source.
