Yesterday, EAMobile announced their new game FIFA 10… “The World’s Most Authentic Soccer” game. FIFA 10 will be available sin the App Store starting October 2nd. The game is available for both the iPhone and iPod touch though, there is no info on price. Below is a full description and screenshots of FIFA 10.

This application does not need much of a description…tap the ball to keep it in the air. Though, I did find that if you tap towards the bottom of the ball you will have a little more success. Now, for as simple as this game is, I’m seriously terrible at it! I don’t know if I’m like not getting into the groove of things or if I haven’t found the perfect way to tap the ball or what but, I can’t get over 11!! Yes, 11! Then I got too frustrated and had to put it down! Then, I made the mistake of looking at the Online Leaderboard (which opens in the application) where people have a score of 400 or more! So, my competitiveness kicked in and I gave it another shot.

There are a few things I like about this application; the design is easy to look at, the ball reacts correctly when tapped and when it hits the wall, and you can see both local and global high scores which keeps you coming back for more. Personally I am not sure how long I would actually play this game or if I would come back to it more than a few times but, if you like these types of game, for $0.99 you can’t go wrong.

You will have to let me know if you master this game and what your strategy is!

Looks like we didn’t have to wait very long! Over the week-end SoccerGuide was released. It looks to be pretty much the same as the preview screenshots. The application opens to a screen where you can pick from two leagues (Germany; Bundesliga and England; Premier League). Once you have selected a league you get the options to view Live Scores, New, Table, Results, Fixtures, Clubs, Credits and the ability to go back to the League screen. It looks as if the scores are brought to you via ScoresPro. They do not fit correctly in portrait mode but if you tip your iPhone to landscape mode it fits fine.


You can choose to view News via Premiershiplatest.com or BBC Sport. I do like that you can view the full news right in the application. The Table option will give you the overall team rakes based on total points. Results will give you match results. Fixtures will give you a list of matches and start times (I think) based on Month. The last option Clubs brings up a list of clubs and if you select one, you will get information such as when it was founded, it’s nickname, capacity, manager, general info and league history.

The application seems to run smoothly though, it did crash once or twice on me. Other than that, like their other applications, a very informative app if you are a soccer lover!

SoccerGuide is going to be a soccer guide application featuring two soccer leagues; German league and Premier League. The application is due to be released in Cydia very soon. It comes from the developers of TourDeFrance and Formula1 Guide from firmware 1.1.x. The app will be free via Cydia and they say they might also update the application to add additional league. Below are a few preview screenshots.
