Sonos recently announced the Sonos ZonePlayer S5 a powerful, wireless music system that not only delivers quality sound but also allows for remote access via the Sonos Controller App.

The Sonos ZonePlayer S5 is a 8.50in x 14.40in speaker that encases “five Class-D digital amplifiers” and “five driver speaker system (two tweeters, two 3” mid-range drivers, and one 3.5” woofer. Each driver of the product is individually powered by a dedicated amplifier).”

Another nice features of the system is that it can be controlled wirelessly from your iPhone (or iPod touch) via the Sonos Controller App. The app allows you to remotely control the music system giving you the ability to instantly access music stored on your computer, and play tunes from a NAS drive or Apple Time Capsule without turning on your computer, control the music selection and volume in each room individually, search for any song with the touch-screen keyboard and much more.

The Process option will give you a list of all your iPhone processes (main apps, mobile user processes and other processes). If you select one, you will get even more information about the process and the ability to stop the process.

The Memory option will give you some nice memory stats. This includes how many MB of Free, Active, Inactive and Wired memory you have.

The Disk option will give you info about both the System Area and the User Area…including how many MB you are using and that are available for both areas (interesting info!).

The Network option give you Network Interface stats and Various Network reports.

If you are totally into knowing EVERYTHING about your iPhone then this is most defiantly an app for you. I personally will only use a few aspects of this app (Process, Memory and Disk info) but, even then…it does a nice job of laying out the info in a user friendly interface.

Well, it seems that FontSwap has made it’s way to firmware 2.x. A different icon, a much different user interface but overall, the same idea. The application opens to the main menu where you will find four options; Dialer Fonts, LockClock Fonts, Notes Fonts and System Fonts. The Dialer Fonts will change the font of your keypad when you dial a phone number. The LockClock Fonts will change the font of the clock on your lock screen. The Notes Fonts will change the font within your Notes application and the System Fonts change basically everything else. The system font includes your icon labels, pop-up font, font in all your menus, font within applications (ex. Settings, WinterBoard)….basically all other font on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

From the main menu, you can select any of the four options (Dialer Fonts, LockClock Fonts, Notes Fonts or System Fonts) to see what fonts are available for each option. Once you are on the list of fonts, you can tap the font title to select it. Once selected, you will get a pop-up with one of the following options.

For the Dialer Fonts you will have the options to Install & Relaunch Phone, Install Only or Cancel.
For the LockClock Fonts you will have the options to Install & Respring iPhone, Install Only or Cancel. For the Notes Fonts you will have the option to Installer & Launch Notes, Install Only or Cancel and for the System Fonts you will have the options to Installer & Respring iPhone, Install & Relaunch FontSwap or Cancel.

If you are changing more than one of your fonts you can select the Install option however, when you select the last font you will want to select the Install and Respring option. If you are only changing one font…be sure to select the Install and Respring option. Basically you will always want to respring your iPhone when you are ready to leave the FontSwap application.

Once your iPhone or iPod Touch has resprung, you will see the new fonts! Overall, this application works very nicely. I had no issues with crashing or messing up my iPhone. I did have an issue installing the application. I ended up having to restart my iPhone and then install the app. Before I restarted my iPhone…it would crash half way through installing. I also found that the one font option for the dialer font does not work or at least I can’t see a difference in the font.

Once thing I would love to see in this application is a preview option. The developer did say that the Install & Relaunch FontSwap option in the System Fonts is basically a way to preview the font. But, if you are going to respring your iPhone it is just as easy to see the new font on your iPhone as it is to see it in the FontSwap application. I would like to see a preview option within the actual FontSwap application. Below are some screenshots.

There is an update to SBSettings today. If you remember my initial review of SBSettings, you will remember that this application is pretty much supposed to be a BossPrefs replacement app. Well, I actually use SBSettings quite often and thought that the update was worth writing about. The “coolest” part of the update is that SBSettings is now themable! It now comes with the stock theme and two additional themes (HUD and Tech Shadow). You can get to the themes through the More option. I also noticed that there were quite a few additional mods for SBSettings in Cydia (which I just might have to do a post about).

Another new feature which I really like is that you can now select the Home Button to close the SBSettings window. I don’t know if it was just me but, I had a hard time closing the app using the little x. It always took like five tries before it would close. This feature is actually really nicely implemented…you can even use the Home Button to close SBSettings while it is open in another application. So lets say you are in your Notes app and you open SBSettings, you can select the Home Button and the SBSettings window will close but your Notes app will stay open.

Another new features is a brightness toggle. This features is also very well implemented into the application. I personally love this feature…it is soooo much faster than going all the way into your Settings to adjust your brightness! The update to version 1.0.1 also disables the SBSettings application while on your lock screen….which is an understandable change.

Overall, this application is well built and easy to use. Though, I am interested to know if everyone has finally switched over to using SBSetting exclusively or if you guys are still using both SBSettings and BossPrefs.

Kate (also known as Caterpillar) has been update to version 1.3.1. The update only adds one new feature to the application however, it does fix a few bugs and compatibility issue. The new feature is the ability to do a fast respring which means you are able to respring your SpringBoard without going to the lock screen (this will only work with firmware 1.1.3 and up). There is one bug fix that is really nice, Kate is now compatible with Dock, Screenshot and other similar applications. So, those of you who didn’t want to use Kate in the past because it was not compatible with Dock…you are good to go! Also, according to the developers of Kate, this will be the last update for 1.1.x firmware. Any future releases will only be compatible with firmware 2.0 (which only means we are getting closer! YAY!). Below is the complete change log via the developer. Kate is available through the Rip Dev source.<!--

The update to version 1.72 of BossPrefs “adds ability to sort all the dock icons including the built in apps. Hopefully, this should close all issues with the dock display as well with small numbers of icons.” I think ability to sort all the applications in the dock, including Power and Poof, is good. I also noticed the the Power and Poof icons are no longer automatically added to the dock instead, you can add them if you would like. However, I can’t seem to get them onto the dock. They can both be toggled in the Config menu but, when I toggle them on, they do not show up in the dock even after a restart. Let me know in the comments if you are having the same problem. BossPrefs is available through the BisBoss source.

Note: To get the Poof and Power icons to show up in the dock, add another application to the dock and then close BossPrefs and reopen it. Then they will be there. Thanks to Ramrod for the tip!!

Update: Version 1.73 of BossPrefs fixes the bug mentioned above.

I recently ran across this mod and I think it is crazy SWEET! So, I thought I would pass it along. When installed, it will change all your system buttons/taps/pop-ups to the color you choose. This includes all your toggle options, SMS pop-ups, slider bars, badges, arrows, highlights, all the buttons in applications…etc. It is available in Black, Dark Blue (which I couldn’t get to download) , Green, Grey, Lemon (actually Lime), Light Blue (Teal), Lila (Purple), Orange and Yellow. This mod is available through the iPhoneFreakz source.

Note: Only install one color at a time and if you decide you do not like that color, just uninstall it and it will go back your stock color. I have noticed that it does make some badges and arrows look a little pixilated but it’s tolerable. Doug does not like that it changes the badge color, especially in the black Interface because it makes it hard to see. Doug and I have both installed, changed and uninstall this mod with no problem.
