Sleek Elite HD is a theme for SBSettings (an application that allows you to quickly toggle settings on your device). There are two things I really like about this theme; it’s well designed and it has 31 icons. I’m pretty sure that covers about ever toggle available for SBSettings! Check out the screenshots below. You can get Sleek Elite HD via the modmyi source. Read more
MatteFusionGZ is a simple and clean WinterBoard theme that contains 70 matte icons, a dock, status bar and badge. There are a few things to note about this theme.
The SMS icon is labeled incorrectly so the themed icon does not display when you active the theme in WinterBoard. To change this, you can ssh into (or use iFile on your device) the /library/Themes/MatteFusionGZ/Icons folder and rename Text.png to Messages.png. It will then display the themed SMS icon.
If you are into the modding scene, the theme does contain a few extra wallpapers as well as an 36 additional icons in a folder titled “more icons.” To take it even further, it also contains a .psd file for the icons.
Also, if you are looking for a lock screen battery that matches the little better than the stock battery… check out Matte Battery 2.0.
Acier is a unique WinterBoard theme (based on the concept of an iNav theme… you know, the original theme from back-in-the-day that started all these sweet themes). Below is a list of what you will need to install in order to use the theme correctly and instructions on how to set-up the theme. Check it out. Read more
iAwesome is a WinterBoard theme that contains 304 redesigned icons (though all icons are modded… more to come on that), wallpaper, status bar, lock screen wallpaper, lock screen battery, badges, pop-ups and quite a few UI mods. The nice thing about this theme is that it contains an icon overlay which means that all icons are modded… not just icons that have been designed for the theme. If you go into the App Store, you will see that even the icons in the AppStore are modded with the overlay.
That is good news for those of you who like this theme because it means all the icons are your device will be modded… which is a rare occurrence. Check out the screenshots below.
High Tech is a WinterBoard theme that is available in four colors; USSR (red), Rave-Up (blue), Clover (green) and Negative Cells (orange). All four themes contain the same mods (just in the different colors); 72 icons, 5 wallpapers, dock, loading screens, lock screen battery, badges, weather app mod, phone app mod and quite a few other UI mods.
The themes also contain UI sounds. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of UI sounds. If you are like me and would rather not have them, you can ssh (or use the iFile app right on your device) and locate the Library/Themes/the name of the theme you are using (ex. High Tech USSR.theme) and delete the UISounds folder. If you don’t want to delete the folder, you can just rename it to something else. Read more
RoughDraft is a WinterBoard theme that contains 34 icons, lock background, wallpaper, dock and badges. The few icons that it does contain are well designed. The only issue with the theme is that the badge does not display. It does contain a file for the badge however, in order for it to display correctly, you will need to do some ssh work. Read more
This theme is pretty sweet looking but these types of themes are always a pain to try and get setup correctly so here is a video that guides you through it.
The official forum thread can be found at macthemes.net and new icons and wallpaper at the teknologik posterous site here: teknologik.posterous.com. Here’s what it looks like along with some users variations found at macthemes.net:
A i r o, by Pur3x, contains 61 icons (some of which are alternative icons), wallpaper, dock, lockscreen wallpaper, lockscreen battery, badges and quite a few UI mods. Overall, the theme is nicely designed and the UI mods are subtle and clean. I did notice that the “Slide to Unlock” text looks a little funky… it is moved over to the right but still slightly visible. You can fix this by using either the Slide to Unlock Killer or the No “Slide to Unlock” Text hacks. For more info about the theme, check it out on deviantART. You can get the A i r o theme via the modmyi source. Read more
Normally I stick to writing about themes that can be installed via Cydia however, there are so many AWESOME themes that can only be installed via SSH… and Sista is one of them.
I found Sista, by SoundForge, on MacThemes and instantly loved it! It is a nicely designed, clean theme. The theme’s package contains a decent amount of icons and a .PDS file so that you can create your own. I will be honest, I’m partial to the Smoog theme via the BigBoss source but, it’s nice to change it up every once and a while! Below is info about the theme and a link to the download. Read more
This hack for the iPhone makes it snow behind your icons and above your wallpaper. It is downloaded in Cydia and activated by Winterboard. You must be jailbroken for this to work. It does slow down the device a bit and I did notice minor glitching when swiping between pages. My iPhone has a lot of hacks so that may be something to do with it. If you try it out, let me know how it works for you.
Meu is a WinterBoard theme that contains around 40 icons (some of which are alternate icons), wallpaper, dock, statusbar, badges and a lock screen battery. The stock theme does not contain a Calendar, Stocks or App Store icon. However, I made a few icons really quick that you can manually add to the theme (see below). The theme does contain a .psd icon template allowing you to create your own icons. You can get Meu via the iSpazio source. Read more
This is really sweet. It’s a Winterboard theme that looks like Mac OS X. Check out the video below. It’s not available yet but we’ll keep you up to date on when it’s released.
Ok, I saw this theme/mod a while back on deviantart.com and wanted to write an article about it but at the time it was a pretty drawn out process (and still is). Well, here’s a video to see what it looks like. The guy kinda explains it like the software is actually running on the iPhone, but it’s not. It’s just a theme made to look like the HTC. Here’s a link to the guide.
QuickTip – FaceTime’s Selfview is Draggable/Movable
I was on a FaceTime call with a friend tonight, who just got his iPhone 4, and he told me I could drag the video of myself around on the screen. That’s awesome! All you do is touch it and drag it to either of the four corners. Let us know of any other tips Read More...
