The eBay iPhone and iPod touch application has received an update to version 1.5.0. The update add a few new features including Best Offer support with push notification, live countdown timers and the ability to share items via twitter, facebook and email. It seems the update is just in time for the Holiday season. You can view the full change log below.

Out of curiosity, do any of you guys use the eBay application… I totally do!

Yesterday, Categories, an application that allows you to organize the applications on your SpringBoard into folders, received a few updates. The update to version 2.27 was the major one which basically includes an internal rewrite of the app making the app perform much quicker. Updates 2.27.1 and 2.27.2 were basically bug fixes. After updating, I definitely notice an improvement in the app’s functionality. It is MUCH quicker and just feels less bulky. So far, I have not had one crash… which is great! Normally, Categories will crash a few times on me. I also love that when adding an application to a folder, the apps are now in correct Alphabetical order! It makes adding applications so much faster and easier!

Overall, a great update… you will want to be sure to update to update this one. You can get Categories via the BigBoss source.

- Fixed issue on update that caused some users to see no folders after update from 2.26. (Sorry, while this should solve the issue, it wont undo what was done for you that already experiences it meaning you have to set folders up again if this happened to you).

- Reworked the package, itself, so that it won’t install with CategoriesSB version less than 1.1. This caused some updates to lose contents of the folders because they update Categories but not CategoriesSB.

WeatherIcon, a mod that allows you to have the current temperature and weather conditions on the Weather Icon and/or Statusbar, was update to version 2.2.23. The new version makes the mod compatible with the LockInfo application. You can get the WeatherIcon mod via the modmyi source.

Joe Hewitt, the developer of the facebook App Store application, recently tweeted that the app will soon be receiving two updates. The update to version 3.03 will be bug fixes and it will be followed by version 3.1 which is said to include push notification (along with a few other nice new features).

The thing I find strange is the lack of info about version 3.1. In the past we have seen pictures, video, tweets… etc about updates. Not this time. I guess we will just have until it;s released to see all the cool new features.

Yesterday, Mobile Substrate was update to version 0.9.3051-1. I do not have a complete change log on the update. However, saurik did say that the update to Mobile Substrate fixes Cyntact’s crashing issues on firmware 3.1. Let me know in the comments if you know of any other changes.

atebits has announced lots of info about the soon to be released Tweetie 2. This will be a free upgrade for the Mac version but for the iPhone, you will need to buy it as a seprate app at $2.99. The original Tweetie is really nice but I’m kinda torn on the idea of making the app cost $2.99 again. As much as I use it, and as many upgrades that there are, I personally think it’s worth it. I have multiple Twitter accounts (in the double digits) and love all the current features. For light to normal users, I could see people being upset for having to pay all over again for the app. Wait until you see these screenshots and list of updates and then you might be willing to pay Also note, the developer has “dropped everything and devoted every working minute since to Tweetie.”

Start Messaging

Many of you are probably familiar with qTweeter, a very unique twitter and facebook client. We have been doing reviews of qTweeter for quite a while now. Well, it seems that the app has now been released in the App Store under the title qStatus… and still contains many of the same features.

I received an email from the developers that saying that jailbroke version of qTweeter will need some updating in order to function with the 3.1 firmware… which may take some time. However, qStatus it is now available in the App Store. Obviously, you can not slide from the statusbar to launch qStatus but, the app does still contain the features listed below (which some of the features are actually pretty cool… I’ve always liked this application).

Yesterday, BossPaper was updated to version 1.1 adding an “Under WinterBoard” option. It has now been updated to version 1.1.1. The update to version 1.1.1 contains a few bug fixes. Below is the list of bug fixes according to BigBoss. He has also said that if you are still experiencing an issue with missing icons, he would like some help troubleshooting it. 1) Fixed background location to include statusbar again.

2) Fixed help screen to talk about how to use the new “Under Winterboard” feature. See Help, then Feature Description.

3) Made some changes internally to try to make things more like how 1.0 worked for those that were having problems with layering when using winterboard. I verified this fixed the problem for one person, (thank you Scott). I still cannot reproduce this issue so can only hope for the best.

4) The change to #3 above also impacted dimming if you had a winterboard theme behind the bosspaper. On v1.0 the winterboard theme was covered but on 1.1 the paper dimming let the theme show from behind it.
