Stickam has recently released an iPhone app that allows you to view streaming video channels live to your iPhone. It doesn’t have a ton of features but it doesn’t really seem to need them. You can sign in or create a new account. You can chat live in both horizontal and vertical mode and you can search. The channels are sorted by Featured, Friends, Shows & Social. I think I would only use it for watching twit.tv live but it would work well as a security camera for your self too. You can set up an account at Stickam.com and stream your webcam to a channel. Then load it up on your iPhone and your good to go.

Sabec Launches the World’s First iPhone 2G/3G video camera app

London based Sabec (www.sabec.co.uk/videocam.html) is the first company to launch a video camera app for the iPhone 2g/3g. VideoCam™ is truly unique in that it offers users the opportunity to record video on thie iPhone 2g / 3g.

This exciting breakthrough follows almost one year of research and development and is set to change the way users record and watch video on their iPhone.

The VideoCam™ is currently awaiting approval from Apple, Never before has an iPhone user had the ability to record motion video, and the arrival of VideoCam™ on the marketplace is seen as an important step forward from both a technological and an entertainment perspective.

VideoCam™ will be launched at a very affordable price.

You will first need someone to email you a video file (I had Doug email me one he took with his iPhone 3GS). Once you have received the video, you can open the email and select the arrow on the lower menu bar. This will give you five options; Reply, Reply All, Forward, Save Video and Cancel. Once you select Save Video, the video will get saved to your Camera Roll. You can then go into your Camera Roll and select the video.

After selecting the video, you are able to watch the video and edit it. To edit a video, tap on the timeline at the top of the page you can then drag your finger to the start and end points on the video. When you select trim, you have the option to trim the original video or save the trimmed potion as a new clip in your Camera Roll.

So, even though you can’t take video on your unjailbroken iPhone 3G… I guess you can at least edit it. I’m not really sure there is a huge purpose to this feature but, there you go.

I only tested this on an iPhone 3G but, it is said to work on an iPod touch running 3.1.1 as well.

TwitVid, an application that allows iPhone 3GS users to tweet videos, had it’s first update today. You will not see any visual changes to the application until firmware 3.1 is released. Once the 3.1 firmware is released, you will be able to see My Videos, Top Videos, and Control Video Quality. I do think it is a little weird to have any update with features for a firmware that is not even available yet but, you know Apple. Below is a full list of features… including the ones that affect the current version of firmware.
