redsn0w – Jailbreak for iPod Touch 2G (2nd Generation) Video

Dev TeamThe Dev Team, specifically MuscleNerd, has released a video via qik.com of a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (2nd Generation). Unfortunatly the jailbreak only works when tethered (connected via USB) to a computer. They are working on a fix for this but have proven the jailbreak to work by running terminal, Cydia and an NES Emulator (Nintendo). Let us know if the comments if you have an iPod Touch 2G waiting to jailbreak. Here’s the video:

12Seconds – Create “Video” Slideshows

12seconds2
Available In: App Store       Price: $0.99

12Seconds12 seconds? Well, according to the application’s developers, this is how long one will continue paying attention to a video without losing interest. Still reading? Well, if you’re a fan of Twitter, and if you’re handy with a web cam, then chances are you might already be aware of 12seconds.tv. I was unaware of the site and as an iPhone user, I don’t have access to video recording capabilities (note to Mr. Jobs, any chance of video in a future iPhone?) Anyways, the 12seconds team has come up with a temporary solution with its native iPhone app now on sale in the App Store.

Overview
Basically, once you have a 12seconds.tv account (you can sign up quickly through the application), you can immediately record an update with your iPhone. Since there is no video capability built into the iPhone, what you will be doing is creating a 3-picture slideshow and adding 12 seconds of recorded audio to your broadcast. [Read more...]

BurnBall Video Review

Available In: App Store       Price: $1.99

BurnBall Burnball is another simple application but very challenging and addicting. You tilt the iPhone to control your character and try to change the black and white area to color while trying to avoid the robots (bad guys). Check out our video review below.

Note: At the time that Doug did this video review (a few days ago) BurnBall was $0.99 and BurnBallLite was free. However, it looks as if the prices have been raised to $1.99 for BurnBall and $0.99 for BurnBallLite.

pastebud – Copy and Paste for the iPhone – Step by Step Instructions

pastebudguide

pastebud I’m sure many of you have heard about pastebud releasing copy and paste today for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Well, I finally had a chance to test it for myself. Below are instructions on how to set-up and use pastebud’s copy and paste technique.

The pastebud method of copy and paste allows you to copy and paste between Safari and Mail. This is basically achieved using a series of bookmarks via Safari. The initial set-up can be a little tricky (I will walk to through it) but, after that, it is a very sleek and smooth process!

For those of you concerned about the security of using this method…here is what pastebud has to say about that, [Read more...]

iPhone 101 – Episode 11

Apple iPhone SchoolAlthough this was recorded in HD, it has been resized and compressed to make it a smaller file size. The file is still large because of the length of the recording. If none of those excuses are acceptable, I blame it on a PC. Someday I will have a mac…

Skrew Common and vWallpaper/vRingtones

skrewcommon153-2
Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

VWallpaper Well, it seems that while I was traveling, we finally got one of the apps that many of you have been waiting for…vWallpaper/vRingtones. I gave the app a try and it seems to work great! One new feature in the vWallpaper section is that you can now add a picture mask to your wallpaper. The video wallpaper will then show behind the picture mask. Another feature that I really like is the ability to preview the wallpapers and picture masks before setting them. The only thing it needs now is the ablity to view a vWallpaper before you download it. That would be nice!

The vRingtones part of the application works well too. For some reason these apps seem to run a lot smoother now. When I had them on version 1.1.4 and below they were always a little sketchy but, they seem to work great on firmware 2.0 and above.
