iSpit This new app is available through Installer.app from the Robota source. To start off I should mention this app will not open if you cannot connect to the internet (like when I’m at work with no edge/wifi connection). That being said, this is a very nifty http server that runs from your iPhone, and allows you to view the contents of your iPhone and download saved media (ie. photos, movies taken with Showtime, etc.)

Simply enough, you just have to flip the two switches in the app and wait till it says “Server is running.” Then go to your favorite internet browser on your computer (not your iPhone, even though you can) and type in the IP address displayed in the app. When the page loads you can then move click-navigate through the contents of your iPhone. To download, simply right-click on the file name and select ’save’. Or, if it is an image, simple click the image name (the .JPG version) and it will load the image in the browser, then you can right-click and save the image.

So far, the only use I have for it is to get the following screenshots… but, I’m sure I’ll use it a lot more to get movies taken with Showtime.

Note: Be sure to turn this app off when you are done using it so that other people can’t see your files.

Does this work over EDGE? In other words, do you need WiFi for iSpit to work or can you run the server off of EDGE?

@Tuan….you have to be on WiFi because it runs off your network.
