Multifl0w – Expose-Like Multitasking Interface

Available In: Cydia       Price: $4.99

SettingsThis app is a very nice way do display all apps that are running in the background. It works on the iPhone or iPad. Since the iPad doesn’t natively support backgrounding, this is a nice way to switch between apps. It will also work with the new 4.0 software and can be activated in pretty much any way you’d like using activator. Once you have some apps running in the background and you bring up Multifl0w, you can rearrange the order of the apps by dragging them around. Here’s a few screenshots and a video demo.

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

SBSettingsOne of the best hacks for the iPhone, SBSettings, now works with firmware 4.0. This hack let’s you swipe the status bar and a drop down menu pops out with all kinds of quick settings like brightness adjustment and toggles for wifi, bluetooth and 3G. There are different themes, all kinds of info like running processes, IP address, & memory. Best of all, it’s free. This is a must have app!

See our past reviews of SBSettings for more detailed descriptions.

Note: there is a small bug for 4.0.

ATTENTION 4.0 USERS: Currently an activator bug prevents the SBSettings window from appearing in some apps. For the time being, load settings, activator, and set SBSettings also to short hold home so you can hold home button to also bring up sbsettings in apps.

3G Unrestrictor – Enable Wifi Features Over 3G & EDGE (FaceTime on 3G!) (video)

Available In: Cydia       Price: $3.99

3G Unrestrictor3G Unrestrictor has been updated to work with iPhone 4 and firmware 4.x. You know what this means! FaceTime calls anywhere! Now we’ve tested this out, and really it works better on 3G than it does on EDGE but it does work. Once installed you can just open the app and select apps you’d like to fake out. This makes them think your phone is on Wifi instead of 3G or EDGE. Other apps that this can help with instead of FaceTime are the App Store, which won’t let you download apps over 20MB. This goes for videos in iTunes too. Although Skype recently announced the use of Skype over 3G, you can avoid additional costs if they ever do decide to charge for it. Another place this will help is when videos download over 3G they are compressed more which makes them more blurry. With 3G Unrestrictor, YouTube thinks it’s on Wifi and will download the full resolution version. Read more

cameraThis app allows you to take pictures or video with the volume buttons instead of trying to hit the little button on the screen. It should help you to keep the camera more still and keep from blurry photos. This only works when the camera app is open or other apps using the camera feature. The news here is that it had been updated to work with 4.0 firmware so now you can use it to take HD 720p video! This is one of my top jailbreak apps that I just gotta have. Read more

BluetoothThis app is really simple. You just tap the icon, it toggles your Bluetooth and closes. Just one tap and you can turn on or off your Bluetooth. This should work on all iPhones and iPod touches but I could not get it to work on my iPad :( Here’s a little video of how it works:

fullforceApple makes the claim that all of the existing iPhone apps will run on the iPad. This is true but unless the developer updates their app to run on the iPad it looks like this:

That is Facebook and Twitter for the iPhone. At the time of writing this article there were no official alternatives for the iPad for these apps. This is what you would be stuck with. Oh, wait, Apple made this little button down in the bottom right that says 2x. Look what this does: Read more

MatteFusionGZ – WinterBoard Theme

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WinterBoard mattefusiongz3 MatteFusionGZ is a simple and clean WinterBoard theme that contains 70 matte icons, a dock, status bar and badge. There are a few things to note about this theme.

The SMS icon is labeled incorrectly so the themed icon does not display when you active the theme in WinterBoard. To change this, you can ssh into (or use iFile on your device) the /library/Themes/MatteFusionGZ/Icons folder and rename Text.png to Messages.png. It will then display the themed SMS icon.

If you are into the modding scene, the theme does contain a few extra wallpapers as well as an 36 additional icons in a folder titled “more icons.” To take it even further, it also contains a .psd file for the icons.

Also, if you are looking for a lock screen battery that matches the little better than the stock battery… check out Matte Battery 2.0.

You can get MatteFusionGZ via the modmyi source.

Backgrounder Update – New Settings, New Features and Fixes

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Backgrounder Backgrounder, a hack that allows applications to run in the background, has been updated to version svn.r432 (and svn.r436). The new version actually makes a decent amount of changes to the hack (full change log below).

The overall settings of the app have changed… including more description about each setting… which is nice.

In the Global option of the settings, you will find quite a few more features including the ability to choose the type of Backgrounding Method (Off, Native and Backgrounder), choose the Backgrounding State (Enable at Launch or Stay Enabled – previously Backgrounding Persists), the ability to turn on a Status Bar Icon and the options to Fallback to Native and Minimize on Toggle.

AIS App Updated

Apple iPhone SchoolJust a little update to our app. Matthew updated the icon so it’s the correct size. Before it was a little smaller than most icons. He’s also looking into speeding it up a bit. If you have any other ideas, let us know in the comments.

WiCarrier – Change Carrier in Status Bar to WiFi Network Name

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WiCarrier WiCarrier is a pretty cool little hack that changes the carrier name on your status bar to display the WiFi network name when connected to WiFi. For example, our WiFi network at home is ahhyeah. So, when I am connected to our home WiFi, instead of saying AT&T on the status bar it says ahhyeah. Another cool little feature of the hack is that you can tap the WiFi network and it will display your local IP address. When you are no longer connected to WiFi, it will go back to displaying your carrier name.

This hack works in fine if your carrier name has been changed using MakeItMine (or similar). When you are no longer connected to WiFi, it will switch back to your modded carrier name.

##ICON_NAME## Yesterday, SBSettings was updated to version 3.0.9-11 and released in BigBoss’s main source. Below is a full change log for the update but, a few of the major changes include rotation, better iPad integration and a few new options.

I was pretty stoked when I heard about the new rotation feature however, it was mostly created for iPad users. When your iPhone or iPod touch is in landscape mode and you swipe to launch SBSetting, it hangs off all weird. You are still able to use the toggles however, you are unable to get to the other options such as More, Refresh, Dock, Respring and Power. BigBoss has said that he does not plan to fix this issue due to the fact that it was basically created for iPad users. However, it can be disabled.

High Tech (USSR, Rave-Up, Clover & Negative Cells) – WinterBoard Theme

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## IMG_0287 High Tech is a WinterBoard theme that is available in four colors; USSR (red), Rave-Up (blue), Clover (green) and Negative Cells (orange). All four themes contain the same mods (just in the different colors); 72 icons, 5 wallpapers, dock, loading screens, lock screen battery, badges, weather app mod, phone app mod and quite a few other UI mods.

The themes also contain UI sounds. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of UI sounds. If you are like me and would rather not have them, you can ssh (or use the iFile app right on your device) and locate the Library/Themes/the name of the theme you are using (ex. High Tech USSR.theme) and delete the UISounds folder. If you don’t want to delete the folder, you can just rename it to something else.
